The Indian Nurses Federation of Kuwait (INFOK) organized a magnificent celebration titled "Florence Fiesta 2025" on May 9 at Aspire Indian International School in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh to commemorate International Nurses Day. The event honored Florence Nightingale's legacy while recognizing the invaluable contributions of nurses in Kuwait's healthcare sector. The evening witnessed an impressive gathering of nursing professionals and distinguished guests, creating a memorable tribute to the nursing community.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Mustafa Al Mosawi, Head of Kuwait Organ Procurement, as the chief guest. INFOK President Mr. Vijesh Velayudhan highlighted the federation's achievements and future goals during his address. Senior nursing officials including Madam Dalila Karim and Madam Iman Al Awadhi (via video message) commended the exceptional work of Indian nurses in Kuwait. The event featured the presentation of prestigious awards including the Nightingale Awards for veteran nurses, Merit Awards for outstanding students, and Best INFOKian Awards for top performers of 2024.
A highlight of the evening was the launch of INFOK's annual magazine "Mirror 2025" and vibrant cultural performances. The celebration reached its crescendo with a musical extravaganza featuring popular Indian reality show artists Vaishnav Girish, Aathira Janakan, Christakala Thomas, and Vishnu Vardhan, accompanied by a live orchestra. Earlier in the day, nursing-themed poster and article competitions were held, with winners being honored during the main event.
Since its humble beginnings in 2015, INFOK has grown into a formidable 5,000-member organization serving across Kuwait's seven health regions. Aligned with this year's International Nursing Council theme "Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies," the event successfully highlighted the crucial role of nurses in healthcare while fostering professional growth and unity within the nursing community. The federation continues its commitment to public through various initiatives including health awareness programs and medical camps under its INFOK CARE project.
