Victories for K.E.A Kasaragod, M-FAK Malappuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Trask Thrissur, and E.D.A Ernakulam
The second phase of the KEFAK (Kerala Expats Football Association Kuwait) Inter-District Group Level matches witnessed intense competition at the Public Authority for Sports Ground in Mishref.
In the Soccer League’s opening match, K.E.A Kasaragod clinched a crucial 2-1 victory over E.D.A Ernakulam. Ernakulam had taken the lead through a penalty goal by Krishnachandran, but late goals from Sibin and Shiva turned the game around for Kasaragod.
In the second match, M-FAK Malappuram secured their second consecutive win by defeating FOKE Kannur 3-1. Najeem (2) and Ramees were the scorers for Malappuram, while Shaniban netted a consolation goal for Kannur.
Palakkad earned their first win by narrowly overcoming a fighting Wayanad side 1-0, thanks to a decisive goal by Jineesh. In a closely contested battle between TIFAK Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, a goal by Shyam secured a vital win for Kozhikode.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards for the Soccer League went to Shiva (K.E.A Kasaragod), Najeem (M-FAK Malappuram), Nithin (Palakkad), and Amees (Kozhikode).
In the Masters League’s opening match, Trask Thrissur defeated Palakkad with a commanding victory, powered by goals from Shobhi and Santhosh. The match between Kozhikode and FOKE Kannur ended in a goalless draw, while E.D.A Ernakulam showcased their strength with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wayanad, thanks to a goal by Sanu.
An electrifying match between K.E.A Kasaragod and TIFAK Thiruvananthapuram ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw. Baiju and Cleetus scored for Thiruvananthapuram, while Sumesh and Siraj netted the goals for Kasaragod.
The MVP awards for the Masters League were won by Sajeev (Trask Thrissur), Vipin (FOKE Kannur), Nithin (E.D.A Ernakulam), and Sumesh (K.E.A Kasaragod).
The third phase of matches will be held next Friday at the Public Authority for Sports Ground, Mishref. In the Masters League, key fixtures include M-FAK Malappuram vs. Wayanad, K.E.A Kasaragod vs. Kozhikode, E.D.A Ernakulam vs. Trask Thrissur, and FOKE Kannur vs. TIFAK Thiruvananthapuram.
In the Soccer League, M-FAK Malappuram will face TIFAK Thiruvananthapuram, Wayanad will play E.D.A Ernakulam, FOKE Kannur will take on Trask Thrissur, and K.E.A Kasaragod will meet Palakkad.
