Victories for MFAK Malappuram and EDA Ernakulam
The Kerala Expats Football Association Kuwait (KEFAK) Inter-District tournaments kicked off in an electrifying atmosphere at the PAS Ground in Mishref. In the Masters League, MFAK Malappuram secured their first win of the season by defeating Palakkad 2-0. Both goals for Malappuram were scored by Ibrahim.
Other matches in the Masters League — FOKE Kannur vs KEA Kasaragod, TRASSK Thrissur vs Wayanad, and Kozhikode vs TFAK Thiruvananthapuram — all ended in goalless draws.
In the Soccer League, MFAK Malappuram clinched a hard-fought win over TRASSK Thrissur thanks to a lone goal by Hassan. Meanwhile, EDA Ernakulam earned a valuable 3 points by defeating Palakkad 2-1, with Krishnachandran scoring a brace for Ernakulam. Shareef scored the consolation goal for Palakkad. Matches between FOKE Kannur vs Kozhikode and KEA Kasaragod vs Wayanad also ended in goalless draws.
A total of 18 district teams are competing in the KEFAK Inter-District Tournaments this season, played in a League-cum-Knockout format across two categories: the Masters League (for players above 40 years) and the Soccer League. Around 800 registered players with KEFAK will be representing their districts this season.
The second-round matches will take place next Friday at the PAS Ground in Mishref:
•Masters League Fixtures: Palakkad vs TRASSK Thrissur, Kozhikode vs FOKE Kannur, Wayanad vs EDA Ernakulam, KEA Kasaragod vs TFAK Thiruvananthapuram.
•Soccer League Fixtures: KEA Kasaragod vs EDA Ernakulam, FOKE Kannur vs MFAK Malappuram, Wayanad vs Palakkad, TFAK Thiruvananthapuram vs Kozhikode.
