The Kuwait Women’s National Cricket Team, led by captain Amna Sharif, is all set to depart for Thailand to participate in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers 2025. Before the main event, the team will compete in a Quadrangular Series from May 1st to 7th, featuring strong regional sides including UAE, Thailand, and Hong Kong, setting the stage for their qualifying campaign.

A heartfelt send-off ceremony was held at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground, Kuwait’s home of cricket, where Kuwait Cricket Board President Mr. Haider Farman and Director General Mr. Sajid Ashraf shared messages of encouragement and belief in the squad’s talent and determination.

“It is a moment of pride for Kuwait Cricket to see our women’s team grow stronger with every international appearance. We believe in their potential and are confident they will make Kuwait proud,” said Mr. Haider Farman.

Mr. Farman further added “Just like how the men’s team recently achieved success against higher-ranked opponents, we are equally optimistic about the women’s team’s preparation and spirit.”

Mr. Sajid Ashraf added “The entire cricketing fraternity in Kuwait stands behind our women’s team. Their dedication, discipline, and passion have brought them to this stage. Sometimes it takes ten years to reach that eleventh year of breakthrough success, and we believe the next 12 months belong to this remarkable team.”
