A Spectacular National & Liberation Day Celebration at ICSK Junior!

Honouring the sacrifices of the past, celebrating the progress of today and embracing the promise of tomorrow. Long live Kuwait!

Kuwait celebrates National Day on February 25th to mark its independence from British rule in 1961 and Liberation Day on February 26th, commemorating the country’s freedom from Iraqi occupation in 1991. These two significant days hold great importance for all residing in Kuwait. The Indian Community School Kuwait - Junior branch observed this day with great pomp and splendor by the grand assemblies put up by the students in unison. The stage was attractively adorned with the Kuwaiti flag and landmarks symbolizing the rich heritage, culture and pride of the nation.

The celebration began with the hoisting of the Kuwaiti national flag by our Principal, Mrs. C. Sheeja, followed by the national anthem of Kuwait and a soulful prayer song.

In her message, the Principal beautifully portrayed the essence of National Day and Liberation Day, emphasizing the significance of love, respect and gratitude for our foster country, Kuwait. She spoke about how Indians residing in Kuwait hold immense love and admiration for the country, considering it their second home. Their contributions to Kuwait’s progress and development reflect their deep-rooted appreciation for the nation’s warmth and hospitality. She encouraged everyone to continue strengthening this beautiful relationship by upholding values of harmony, respect and cultural exchange.

She also appreciated and applauded the students and teachers for their efforts in putting up a wonderful assembly in a grand manner.

The audience was enthralled by the students' eloquent oration, vibrant dances and engaging skit. The skit showcased the rich cultural heritage of Kuwait. It was displayed beautifully through a presentation, featuring elements like fishing, pearl fishing, ornaments making, weaving, and a colourful display of traditional cuisine. The iconic places of tourist attraction were witnessed by all through a tour on wheels by our kids, to explore and enjoy these places during the Hala Feb holidays.

The festivities continued with melodious Arabic songs and dazzling dance performances, capturing the spirit of the nation. The children sang a heartfelt patriotic song, infusing the assembly with deep emotion and enthusiasm.

The Ardha dance, a traditional Kuwaiti sword dance was performed with great energy and elegance, showcasing Kuwait’s rich cultural heritage. The rhythmic movements and synchronized steps, accompanied by traditional music, added a majestic touch to the celebration.

All the events were truly exquisite and earned thunderous applause and appreciation from all present.
