IDAK - KDD Cricket Tournament Thrills Audience

The much-awaited IDAK-KDD Cricket Championship 2025 was successfully held on February 7, 2025, at the spectacular Boulevard Cricket Ground. Organized by the IDAK Sports Committee, the event was spearheaded by Dr. Eldho George (Chair) and Dr. Renjit George (Co-Chair), alongside committee members Dr. Abraham Thomas, Dr. Anjana Nair, Dr. Sharon Thomas, and Dr. Varsha Manmohan.

The tournament was officially inaugurated by IDAK President, Dr. George P. Alex, in presence of the title sponsor, KDD, represented by Mr. Anand Harith, Manager - Business Systems, as well as the official remittance partner, Al Mulla Exchange, represented by Mr. Paresh Patidar, Marketing Executive.

The championship witnessed the three dynamic teams, namely Red Raptors, Blue Phoenixes, and Green Dragon, battling it out in two exhilarating formats:

• T10 Men’s Cricket

• T5 Women’s Cricket

Both tournaments followed an exciting Round Robin format, ensuring intense and competitive matches that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

In the T10 Men’s Championship, the Green Dragons emerged victorious, while the Red Raptors finished as the Runners-Up. The Best Player Award for the T10 Series was deservedly won by Mr. Nithin, whose outstanding performance played a key role in his team’s victory.

In the T5 Women’s Championship, the Red Raptors clinched the title, while the Green Dragons secured the Runners-Up position. The Best Player Award in the T5 series was earned by Dr. Ranjitha, who showcased remarkable skill and determination throughout the tournament.

The event remained vibrant and engaging, thanks to the expert compering by Dr. Thomas, Dr. George, and Mr. Anand, who kept the audience entertained and well-informed.

The match referees, Dr. George and Dr. Roy, ensured a smooth and disciplined tournament, while umpires Mr. Shyam and Mr. Jaison upheld the spirit of fair play. Mr. Jaison also provided online live score updates, keeping players and spectators engaged throughout the matches.

Ensuring accuracy in scoring , a dedicated team comprising Dr. Aju, Dr. Sudhin, Dr. Vinod, Dr. Roshila, and Mr. Prajul meticulously handled the match statistics.

Capturing the most memorable moments of the tournament, Dr. Jijan, Dr. Shaheer, and Dr. Santosh skillfully documented the excitement and energy of the day through photography and videography.

The Membership Committee efficiently managed participant registration while F&B was taken care of by Dr. Asheel, Dr. Jijan, Dr. Roshila, and Dr. Vinod .

A special note of appreciation goes to the IDAK Council for their support, which played a crucial role in the seamless execution of the tournament.

With all matches conducted as scheduled, the IDAK-KDD Cricket Championship 2025 concluded on a highly successful note, celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive spirit. IDAK also recognized and celebrated the victorious Throwball and Cricket teams in the recently concluded Gulf Friendship Cup in Abudhabi and Dr. Jacob Lonappan who tasted podium finish in the Kuwait Inter Ministerial Table Tennis Tournament by cutting a celebratory cake.

The IDAK Sports Committee extended its heartfelt gratitude to all captains, vice captains , participating teams , sponsors, and contributors for their unwavering support in making this event a grand success.
