148th Mannam Jayanthi Celebration by NSS Kuwait: A Grand Tribute to Mannathu Padmanabhan

The Nair Service Society (NSS) Kuwait successfully hosted the 148th Mannam Jayanthi Celebration at Hawally Palace auditorium, bringing together a vibrant crowd of over 2,000 attendees. The event paid homage to Bharatha Kesari Sri Mannathu Padmanabhan, the revered social reformer, honoring his legacy of community service, education, and empowerment.

The celebration commenced with a welcome address by NSS Kuwait General Secretary Mr. Aneesh P. Nair, setting the stage for an evening of inspiration and cultural significance. NSS Kuwait President Mr. Karthik Narayanan delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the enduring relevance of Mannam’s vision in today’s society.

The highlight of the evening was the inspiring keynote address by Dr. K. Jayakumar IAS (Former Chief secretary of Kerala), who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Reflecting on Mannathu Padmanabhan’s pivotal role in Kerala’s socio-political landscape, Dr. Jayakumar emphasized the significance of unity, education, and selfless service in shaping a progressive society.

As part of the celebrations, the Mannam Excellence Awards were presented to individuals for their remarkable contributions in various fields:

•Mr. Suresh C. Pillai, CEO of Mark Technologies, was honored for his outstanding contributions to enterprise, economic progress, and job creation.

•Mr. Rajeev S. Pillai, CEO of Mahatta Trading, received recognition for his exemplary achievements in business and social commitment.

•Dr. Mini Kurian was celebrated for her dedicated efforts in supporting differently-abled children and helping them integrate into mainstream society.

The Mannam Educational Excellence Awards were presented by the Chief Guest to students who achieved the highest scores in the 10th and 12th standard board exams, recognizing their academic excellence and encouraging them to strive for continued success in their future endeavors.

Felicitation speeches were delivered by esteemed dignitaries, including Patron Mr. K.P. Vijayakumar, Welfare Convener Mr. Prabeesh M.P., and Vanitha Samajam Convener Mrs. Deepthi Prasanth. Special guests, Mr. Sunil Parakkapadath (Phoenix Group) and Mr. Mohammad Ali (Medex Group), also shared their thoughts on the profound impact of Mannathu Padmanabhan’s contributions to social reform and community upliftment.

Following the formal proceedings, the audience was fascinated by a spectacular musical night led by renowned playback singer Alap Raju and his band.

The electrifying performances featured Sreekanth Hariharan, Aparna Harikumar, Idea Star Singer Season 9 winner Aravind Nair, and finalist Nanda Jayadevan, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of music and celebration. With a remarkable turnout, a blend of insightful speeches, prestigious awards, and captivating entertainment, the 148th Mannam Jayanthi Celebration stood as a true tribute to the spirit and legacy of Mannathu Padmanabhan.

The event reaffirmed NSS Kuwait’s commitment to cultural and social upliftment, fostering a strong sense of unity and progress within the community.
