Kala: The Art of Dance

Dance is a form of creative expressions through physical movements that accompany music. Dancing allows one to express oneself. It provides refreshment, relaxation, laughter and lot of entertainment. Professional dancers are today regarded as athletes. Dancing is body beneficial to our health. It's the great way to reduce stress. Although there are hundreds of Dance styles, for simplicity, e categorize different types of Dance into groups. Ballet; modern and contemporary dance; hip-hop; latin, ballroom and social dance; and folk dance etc.

In my family, my cousins love dancing. Whenever there is party in our house they will always be ready to dance to entertain everybody. Dance is not just about technic and skill; it is also about collaboration and connection. Dancers work very hard with choreographers, musicians, costume designers, and lightening technicians to bring performance to life. The dance community create a supportive environment where individuals can grow both artistically and personally.

Let's know about the some dance forms of our country India.

Bharatanatyam (The national dance of India)has a highly evolved language of Nritta, abstract dance, and Nrittya which unfolds the narrative. The themes have a wide range spanning human and divine love, and are generally classed under the rubric of shringara (romantic and love) and Bhakti (devotion).

Kathakali of Kerala: This dance form is a blend of dance, music, acting and dramatize stories which are mostly adopted from the Indian epics. It is a stylized art form. Kathakali music follows the traditional sopana sangeet of Kerala. Kerala is the home of several dance forms.

Bhangra of Punjab: This dance form is popular folk dance form from Punjab known for its energetic and lively movements. It's performed during harvest festivals. This dance is typically seen during Baisakhi celebration.

Lavani of Maharashtra: Lavani is a vibrant and enthralling traditional dance style that is renowned for its rhythmic and vigorous moves. It combines sensuality, celebration, and social commentary distinctively. Dancers display deft and rhythmic footwork along with expressive hand gestures called "Mudras".

Beyond it's artistic value dance contributes both physical and mental well-being. Dancers learn to control there bodies with precision and grace cultivating sense of self awareness and confidence. Other studies have shown that dance helps in increasing levels of feel-good Hormones.

Benefits of Dancing:-

• Increased muscular strength, endurance and fitness.

• Stronger bones and reduce risk of osteoporosis.

• Weight management

• Better coordination, agility and flexibility etc.

Conclusion: Dance is one of the powerful form of human expressions and communication. It is the universal language that speaks to heart. A bit of talent and lots of luck play a huge role in making a certain dancer achieve fame and massive success.
