Under tremendous enthusiasm, the first cultural event of the calendar year for Maharashtra Mandal Kuwait (MMK) was held on Friday, 24th January 2025, to mark two grand events: Makar Sankranti and Republic Day. The event started at the ICSK Khaitan School at 4:00 PM with over 350 attending members.
The highlight of the evening was the spectacular musical performance 'Swar Zankar' by the prominent artists from Maharashtra, namely Ms. Shamika Bhide, Mr. Mayur Sukale, Ms. Darshana Jog, Mr. Divyesh Bapat, Mr. Prasad Padhye, and Mr. Hanumant Ravade. Their soulful renditions of Marathi songs and Hindi Bollywood classics captured the audience's attention, which included key dignitaries gracing the occasion.
The same time, MMK also ensured that their traditional appeal was retained with the program conducting 'Bor-Nhaan' (a traditional Maharashtrian ritual for babies), Haldi Kunku for the women and served the typical Maharashtrian delicacy Wada-Pav and with tea and coffee, and dinner packets.
Presenting their vision and mission for the new year, the President, Mrs. Radhika Raghav Sadekar and the General Secretary, Mrs. Babita Rajendra Patil, led the 2025 Executive Committee of MMK4 with their team of 13 executive members. They also shared plans that the MMK Mobile App will be launched very soon, marking a leap toward digital transformation for the community. This was possible under the generous patronage of the National Consulting Bureau Co., (NCB), and Al-Mulla Exchange.
Maharashtra Mandal Kuwait (MMK), founded in 1982, an organization that has grown gradually over the past 43 years and is registered with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait. A non-profit and non-political socio-cultural organization, MMK provides a forum for its members to exhibit, enhance, and foster their various cultural talents, ensuring the perpetuation of the rich traditions of Maharashtra. Presently, it boasts a dynamic membership base comprising over 500 members working in various fields across Kuwait.
