
NAFO Global successfully conducted its first formation meeting in Dubai at Orchid Vue Hotel, Al Mankool, Bur Dubai, marking a significant step towards establishing its second international chapter in the UAE. The "Meet & Greet" gathering aimed to bring together like-minded families under one umbrella to further socio-welfare activities for the underprivileged back home in India.
The meeting, which proceeded as per the set agenda, culminated in the formation of an Adhoc Committee. Mr. Hareesh Nair was appointed as the Adhoc Chairman, with Mr. Madhu Nair and Ms. Shalini Murali serving as Adhoc Vice Chairpersons. Additionally, Ms. Sheeba Shaiju and Mr. Rajmohan T will contribute as key members of the committee, with Mr. Rajiv Menon, Ex-NAFO Global Kuwait President, offering mentorship and advisory support. The Adhoc Committee is tasked with steering the registration, membership drive, and activity planning to officially establish the NAFO Global-UAE chapter by April 2025.
The meeting saw an interactive and engaging participation from 27 delegates, including 10 members from the NAFO Global Kuwait Executive Committee. The event commenced at 7:00 PM with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony performed by Ms. Gayathri Hareesh, Ms. Deepa Pillai, and Ms. Pooja Pranav, followed by a prayer song and 'Acharya Smriti'.
Following the ceremonial beginning, Mr. Hareesh Nair, Co-Convener for Globalization, delivered the opening remarks. Mr. Anish Nair, Vice President of NAFO Global Kuwait & Globalization Convener, extended the welcome speech, while Mr. Naveen Chingoram, NAFO Global India Advisory Board Chief and General Secretary of NAFO Global Kuwait, delivered the Chair's address. Mr. Rajiv Menon followed with a felicitation speech.
Attendees were then invited to introduce themselves, share their prior connections with NAFO Global, and express their aspirations in contributing to the organization’s mission. An AV presentation on a recently concluded socio-welfare project ‘Sneha Sparsham’ and a broadcast of the annual activity report of NAFO Global India was presented by NAFO Global India Secretary Mr. Murali S. Nair.
The process of appointing the Adhoc Committee was completed, and the dais was officially handed over to its members. The newly formed committee proposed a tentative roadmap for establishing the NAFO Global UAE Chapter.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Adhoc Chairman Mr. Hareesh Nair, followed by a networking session over Hi-Tea. The event was successfully adjourned, setting the stage for the next steps in NAFO Global’s expansion into the UAE.
