Chirping birds and the sun shining through the delicately swaying branches brightened the morning. The air was filled with laughter and joy as we greeted each other, cherishing the bond of our shared past.
On 31st January 2025, the AMUOBA Kuwait Chapter organized a General Body meeting along with a family get-together at home away from home, enjoying the comforts of a farmhouse in Wafra. It was arranged in such a way that nostalgia could be seen on everyone’s face. The breakfast, featuring tea, chola poori, and jalebi, evoked memories of a roadside café on the university campus. A freshly cooked lunch, along with evening snacks and rounds of tea and kahwa, made the day even more relaxing.
While enjoying the beauty of nature away from the dust and smoke of the city, various games were played, escaping the monotony of routine. Families spend quality time and create lasting memories in a relaxed and fun environment, which is instrumental in fostering stronger relationships, enhancing communication, and rejuvenating everyone.
Behind this picturesque day out were the conscientious and meticulous efforts of the entire AMUOBA-5 team. The day commenced with breakfast, followed by lunch and evening snacks. Since it was cloud catering, everything was served hot from the kitchen to the plate.
This was all due to the tireless efforts of the food committee, comprising Mr. Shahnawaz Siddique, Mr. Shahid Ali and Mr. Tauqir Ahmad. There were several games for all age groups, allowing the child within us to emerge. Many gifts were distributed for the games, along with consolation prizes.
The games were efficiently managed by Jt. Secretary- Mr. Mohammad Khurshid Anwar and EC Member- Mr. Maqsood Habib Khan, & on the ladies' side by Gen. Secretary- Ms. Shazia Mansoor.
Along with the family outing, AMUOBA conducted the General Body meeting (GB meeting). The GB meeting is where alumni and office bearers gather every year. The office bearers present the report for the entire year and the alumni provide their feedback, raise queries, or discuss any discord that the Executive Council (EC) members and alumni then resolve in harmony. The GB Meet was anchored by Ms. Talat Fatma (Dy. OSD). It began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Master Hassan Zaidi, followed by a translation by Master Aariz Obaid.
President Mr. Aslam Parvez addressed the gathering and appealed for contributions toward the upliftment of the community. General Secretary Ms. Shazia Mansoor presented the report for the year 2024 and the budget for 2025. Officer on Special Duty Mr. Yusuf Abdullah displayed the audited account statement for the year 2024. Lastly, the Vice President, Mr. Tariq Waseem concluded the meeting with a very humble vote of thanks. The esteemed alumni provided a lot of feedback and appreciated the efforts of the association.
“A team is not just a group of people who work together; a team is a group of people who trust each other.” With this thought, the EC put all its efforts into making the event a success. From President Mr. Aslam Parvez, who dedicated day and night to ensure the event was flawless, to Vice President Mr. Tariq Waseem, who worked hard to make everyone comfortable, General Secretary Ms. Shazia Mansoor, and Deputy OSD Ms. Talat Fatma took care of all the ladies, whether it was food, games, or any other requirements. The food, logistics, venue, games, etc., were managed by the very dynamic team of Mr. Mohammad Khurshid Anwar (Jt. Secretary), Mr. Yusuf Abdullah (OSD), Ms. Talat Fatma (Dy. OSD), Mr. Adil Sareer, Mr. M. Shahid Ali, Mr. Shahnawaz Siddique, Mr. Maqsood Habib Khan, Mr. Tauqir Ahmad & Mr. Masood Alam.
Lastly, with the efforts of the entire team and the support of the alumni the day concluded on a positive note.
