The Kuwait Wayanad Association (KWA) has handed over a fixed deposit of Rs 10 lakh to the affected students of the Mundakkai and Chooralmala landslides. The fixed deposit was given in the names of the children, who lost everything in the disaster.
The ceremony was held at the South Indian Bank, Sultan Bathery branch, on January 1/2025. KWA Patron Babuji Bathery, Vice President Jiji Mathew, Joint Treasurer Shinebabu, Joint Secretary Shinoy Philip, Executive Member Shibu Mathew, Ex president Roy Mathew, Media Convener Mubarak Kamprath , Charity Convener Mini Krishna, Women's Forum Convener Praseetha, former Treasurer Eby Vaduvanchal, KWA member Ajeesh Rajan, and Sahir Pariyaram were present.
The KWA members handed over a check for Rs 10 lakh to South Indian Bank Wayanad Cluster Head Jerin Joseph, Branch Manager Akash Elias, and Assistant Manager (NRE) Neeta Susan. The ceremony was attended by KWA members and parents of the affected children who were on vacation in Wayanad.
The KWA had collected Rs 10 lakh for the education of the children affected by the landslide. The fixed deposit will help the children with their education expenses
