The Kozhikode District NRI Association (KDNA) organized a condolence meeting for M.T. Vasudevan Nair on Friday, the 27th, at the Zam Zam Hall in Abbasiya.
The meeting began with tributes paid to the late former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. KDNA President Santosh Punathil presided over the gathering, while Vice President Aziz Thikkodi presented the condolence note.
The speakers highlighted M.T. Vasudevan Nair’s invaluable contributions, particularly his role in Kozhikode being recognized as a UNESCO City of Literature. They opined that M.T.’s legacy would endure as long as the Malayalam language exists, not only for his literary works but also for his influence across all art forms.
KDNA Advisory board members Krishnan Kadalundi, Suresh Mathur, Basheer Batha, Office Beareres Ramachandran Peringolam and Ubaid Chakkittakandi area representatives Syam Prasad, Sameer K.T and Shameer P.S along with Women’s Forum Arts Secretary Chinnu Shyam, Central Executive Committee member Hameed Paleri, and Shafi A.K expressed their condolences.
KDNA General Secretary Firoz Nalakkath delivered the welcome address, and Treasurer Mansoor Alakkal offered the vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Ilyas Thottathil, Shijith Kumar Chirakkal, Hanifa Kuttichira, Santosh Naripetta, Dhaneesh, and Vinil Kumar.
