IDAK Unveils the 9th Volume of Oral Health Guide Along with Cultural Show - Cinephilia

The Indian Dentists' Alliance in Kuwait (IDAK) celebrated the release of the 9th Volume of its Oral Health Guide - Decoding Dental Pain: Care to Cure, in a glittering ceremony at The Regency, Al Bidaa, on November 29, 2024, under the Patronage of H. E. Dr. Ahamd Abdulwahab Al Awadhi, Minister of Health, Kuwait.

IDAK is affiliated to Kuwait Dental Association and registered with Indian Embassy Kuwait and is a very active in Community services, Scientific activities and Sports activities for members. Oral Health Guides are released once every two years and the latest edition was edited by the IDAK Editorial Committee led by Dr. Lini Mathew. It aims to educate the public about one of the most prevalent oral health issues—dental pain.

The publication was officially launched by Shri. Manas Raj Patel, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, who handed over the first copy to Dr. Ahmad Asad, Assistant Undersecretary of Dental Administration at the Ministry of Health. The event was attended by luminaries from the dental profession, including Dr. Rashed Al Azemi, Dean of the College of Dentistry, Kuwait University.

In his felicitation speech, Dr. Azemi lauded IDAK for its ongoing efforts to elevate dentistry in Kuwait and pledged his support. Dr. George P. Alex, President of IDAK, in his Presidential address, reaffirmed the 18 year old organization’s commitment to advancing the dental profession in Kuwait. He expressed gratitude to the people of Kuwait and its leadership for welcoming Indian dentists with open arms.

The program featured several highlights, including the recognition of IDAKian of the Year awardees for 2023 and 2024. Dr. E.T. Roy and Dr. Jacob Lonappan were honored for their outstanding contributions, with awards presented by Dr. Ahmad Asad.

Shri. Manas Raj Patel, in his address, commended IDAK for its service in Kuwait and encouraged its members to continue fostering Indo-Kuwait friendship. Dr. Jijan Sam Thomas, General Secretary welcomed the gathering while Vice President Dr. Roshila Mathew proposed the Vote of Thanks. Dr Reeby Thomas, Dr. Smida Devadas, Dr. Shalin Simon and Dr. Amrita Geevarghese handled the MC duties for the event.

Adding a cultural flair to the evening, the IDAK Cultural Committee, led by Dr. Aysha John, presented Cinephilia - Icons Reimagined, a stunning cultural show celebrating iconic cinematic characters from across the globe from different genres and eras. Directed by Mrs. Soumya Pratap, the production showcased the talents of over 120 performers, including IDAK members, spouses, and children. The entirely in-house production featured mesmerizing performances, elaborate sets, and immersive LED backdrops, leaving the packed audience spellbound. The stage setting was by Dr. Santosh C V and team, Costume Design by Dr. Divya John and LED Backdrops by Dr. George P Alex, Sound Mastering by Nebu Alexander of Audio Kraft and Stage Light was cintrolled by Shymon Chelad, while Dr. Aju Wilson and TAG Events were the event managers. IDAK also thanked Royal Jazzaf Advertising Company, Upasana Dance Studio, Diva Fashions, Envy Studio and Sunanda Creations for all the assistance.

The evening concluded with a sumptuous buffet dinner and acknowledgments to sponsors including ATC, Taiba Hospital, Phoenix Group, Al Mulla Exchange, KDD, My Tour Compass, Mango Hyper, Ford Alghanim, Alpha Medical, NBK and Logident.

The IDAK Council expressed heartfelt gratitude to its Executive Committee members and sponsors for their invaluable support in creating a memorable evening.
