The Kuwait Kannada Koota (KKK) celebrated its 40th Anniversary Rajyotsava, “Kannada Kampina Parva,” with exceptional zeal and cultural fervor at the Kuwait Crowne Plaza Hotel. The grand event was marked by vibrant performances, distinguished guests, and an enthusiastic crowd of Kannada-speaking families who gathered to commemorate Karnataka’s rich heritage.
The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, adding a touch of reverence and setting the tone for a series of cultural showcases. Chief Guest Sudharani, a celebrated actress and an icon of Kannada cinema known for her roles in classics like Anand, Mysore Mallige, and Sparsha, graced the occasion. With a career spanning several decades and numerous awards, including Karnataka State Film Awards for Best Actress, Sudharani brought a special charm to the celebration. She shared words of inspiration that resonated with everyone present, underscoring the importance of preserving cultural traditions and the spirit of Kannada.
The Cultural Committee convenor Mr. Satish Achrya, Co-Convenor Mrs. Alaka Jitendra and team delivered a 90-minute drama depicting Karnataka’s diverse culture and history, bringing iconic figures like Kuvempu, Shishunala Sharifa, Kanakadasa, Rani Chennamma, Akkamahadevi, Obavva, Krishnadevaraya, and Pulakeshi to life through an exceptional script in pure Kannada. The children’s performances were captivating, and the drama was brilliantly executed, enhanced by stunning background visuals and meticulous sound and lighting arrangements.
President of Kannada Koota Mr. Anant Mangalgi expressed heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors and supporters, emphasizing that the event’s success was a result of the hard work and dedication of Committee Conveners, Co-Conveners, members, volunteers, and children. The president concluded the evening by expressing heartfelt thanks to all Koota members and their families, whose active participation and full attendance made the Rajyotsava an unforgettable celebration of Kannada culture. The event was not just a showcase of talent but a vivid reminder of the deep cultural roots that unite the Kannada-speaking community in Kuwait.
