Fahaheel Al-Watanieh Indian Private School (FAIPS-DPS hosted its first Career Guidance Seminar and Higher Education Fair on Thursday, 7th November 2024. The programme was organised in resonance with the National Guidance Festival (NGF), a pioneering initiative by the Central Board of Secondary Education, India, in partnership with Lifology to prepare students for a future filled with uncertainty and exciting possibilities.
Held on the school campus, this major event aimed at guiding students and parents towards educational and career decisions, displaying FAIPS-DPS’s dedication to supporting its students' academic and professional growth.
The seminar began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, led by the school’s Principal, Mr. Ravi Ayanoli. The event was further graced by the presence of Dr. Tessy Thomas, the illustrious ‘Missile Woman of India’ and former Director General of the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), India. The guest speakers Mr. Rahul J Nair, Co-founder and Director, Lifology and Mr. Rahul Easwar, the Chief Innovation Officer, Lifology, contributed their valuable insights to the day’s discussions.
In his address, Principal Ravi Ayanoli emphasized the school’s steadfast commitment to nurturing the growth and potential of its students, fostering a foundation for their success in an evolving global landscape. Dr. Tessy Thomas shared her inspiring experience in missile projects from Agni 3 to Agni 5 and her contribution to the development of a re-entry system for the missile to withstand greater velocities and temperatures of 3000 degrees celsius. She also highlighted the importance of curiosity and passion in the pursuit of knowledge and encouraged students to approach their studies with dedication and enthusiasm.
The Career Seminar underscored the importance of career aptitude tests, a key tool in helping students identify their strengths, interests, and career paths. Parents received valuable information about the benefits of these assessments in aligning educational choices with future goals, supporting a holistic approach to career planning.
A notable aspect of the event was the University Fair, featuring representatives from esteemed universities across the globe, including institutions from the United Arab Emirates, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Italy, France, Singapore, and Canada, along with India. Delegates presented on a range of topics, covering program offerings, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities, providing students and parents with an international perspective on higher education.
The seminar concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the School Counselor, Mrs. Kavita Sarvesh. The seminar saw a robust attendance of around 500 parents and students, each of whom left with valuable insights and an expanded understanding of their academic options and career prospects. The event was hailed as a tremendous success, affirming FAIPS-DPS’s role as a leader in educational guidance and development in Kuwait.
