On the evening of October 25, 2024, the Telangana Chaitanya Sravanthi (TCS) Kuwait celebrated its iconic state festival ‘Batukamma’ at Fintas Marriage Hall, Kuwait. The event saw a vibrant turnout of members, their families, and distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Sri Sanjay K. Muluka, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Kuwait.
The program was hosted by Smt. Abhilasha Suresh and commenced with the lighting of the Garudadeepam by the families of the Chief Guest, TCS President K. Laxma Reddy, Vice President Oruganti Ramesh, Executive Member Dr. Indeevar Avnoor, and Guest Sri Harshal Pattanam from Malabar Gold. The celebration continued with a rendition of a Telangana latest version song recited by member group comprising Mr. & Mrs. Ravi Kumar, Mr. & Mrs. Srinivas, Mr. & Mrs. Sripad Rao, and Sujatha-Shobha, which was the first time live performance.
Little brothers Ritwik and Arjun Awari opened the festivities with the chant "Vaatapi Ganapathim Bhaje," followed by captivating performances including "Pahi Pahi Gajanana" by Sahasra Yanmangandla, "Sharada Sthotram" by Avyukta Bhoorla, and "Mudhakarath Mothakam Keerthana" by Deekshita. A unique dance, "Everevvaru Batukamma," was performed by Mishita Godishala, adding to the evening’s cultural richness.
In his address, TCS President Mr. K. Laxma Reddy reflected on the association's founding in 2015 and its core principles: ‘Telangana Soyi’, ‘Samskruthi’, ‘Shikshana’, and ‘Service/Welfare’. He emphasized the importance of celebrating festivals with family engagement, highlighting TCS as a platform that fosters community spirit and participation.
Mr. Reddy also outlined TCS-Kuwait’s commitment to skill development through free workshops and seminars covering topics such as personality development, business management, financial investment opportunities, and healthcare. He underscored the association’s dedication to supporting the needy by all possible means, commending both TCS members and Indian Embassy staff for their humanitarian efforts.
The President expressed heartfelt gratitude to sponsors Alsoor Dental Clinic and Malabar Gold for their unwavering support since the association's inception.
TCS council felicitated the Chief Guest Sri Sanjay K. Muluka who later addressed the TCS members & guests wished on Bathukamma and Deepawali festive occasion. He admired the association’s cultural activities besides social service on humanitarian grounds for needy people. He advised that Indian embassy ready to support the round clock for any individual grievances and requested Indians to approach embassy.
The evening’s festivities included traditional Bathukamma celebrations, where ladies and children participated joyfully for over an hour while men also joined for a gig. The Farwaniya group ladies, led by Ramadevi, entertained attendees with a Kolatam performance in their traditional attire. As the event culminated with the Bathukamma Nimajjanam at 9 PM, couples joined together in the final celebrations. Prizes were awarded for the best Bathukammas, followed by the exchange of festive "Sattu Pindi" among participants.
Mr. Kondal Reddy briefed about Indian embassy services especially on WhatsApp text or voice message and their quick response. Members were requested to browse embassy website more details including Bheema (personal insurance) benefits for NRIs. Special recognition was given to Geeta Ugandar for her invaluable support and to Abhilasha Suresh for her anchoring of the program. He expressed appreciation to all participants for their enthusiasm and energy, and extended thanks to Chief Guest Sri Sanjay K. Muluka, as well as to the sponsors and the talented singers, Ravi Kumar and Srinivas Boppe, who engaged the audience till commencement of the event.
The TCS Association Council is comprised of President K. Laxma Reddy, Vice President Oruganti Ramesh, General Secretary Kiran Kumar, Treasurer Gurram Praveen, Cultural Secretary Chandrasekhar, and Event Organizer Gotla Ramesh has made meticulous arrangements for the celebration leaving no stone unturned.
The celebrations concluded by serving delicious food to the members/guests at dinner hosted by the association.
