FAIPS-DPS Dazzles with a Symphony of Smiles

The annual celebration at FAIPS-DPS was a lively showcase of talent and enthusiasm, as Grade 1 students took the stage and captivated the audience with their performances. Titled ‘A Symphony of Smiles’, the event was held on Thursday, 17 October 2024, in the school auditorium and was attended by an audience of 1,500 eager to support the young performers.

The show commenced with the Kuwait National Anthem, followed by the recital of the Holy Quran and the lighting of the lamp. The Principal, Mr. Ravi Ayanoli, welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Ameera Al Hassan, Head of UN-Habitat, Kuwait & GCC mission and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Amir Ahmed, the former President of the Indian Doctors Forum and very well-known humanitarian. In his welcome note, the principal highlighted the crucial role that both parents and teachers play in nurturing the global citizens of tomorrow. He also emphasized the importance of discipline in schools and the need for parental cooperation to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

The inaugural performance transformed the stage into a colourful spectacle as the children displayed their dancing skills with flawless coordination. Thereafter, the programme featured a series of delightful renditions in English and Hindi.

The students went beyond music and mesmerized the audience with traditional and contemporary dance performances. The carefully choreographed French, Arabic, Gujarati, Punjabi and Tamil folkdances left the audience cheering for more. Clad in bright costumes, the young dancers gracefully presented the rhythms of India through a fusion of North and South Indian dance styles.

The grand finale featured a vibrant contemporary performance with a stunning display of movement. Their infectious smiles and spirited movements brought a sense of joy, leaving everyone excited for next year’s celebration.

In the closing remarks, Mrs. Ameera Al Hassan, commended the students for their outstanding performances. Addressing the audience, she echoed the

principal’s sentiments and encouraged parents to instil discipline in their children. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Amir Ahmed, was visibly mesmerized. In his address, he applauded the school for excelling not only in academics but also in fostering the overall development of its students. He remarked, “Seeing the display of skills and hard work that went behind this show, I now know why DPS alumni head institutions and companies across the world.” The programme ended with vote of thanks by the Headmistress Ms. Seema Bhatnagar, who called on stage the teachers and support staff for their tremendous efforts and thanked the guests and parents for their support.
