As part of the Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) Campaign 2024, Integrated Indian School (IIS), Kuwait, engaged in a series of successful events aimed at promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental sustainability. This initiative, aligned with the national Swachh Bharat Mission, highlights the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility among its students, staff, and the wider community.

Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Program: September 19, 2024

In a significant step towards breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation, IIS conducted a ‘Swachhata Ki Pathshaala – Menstrual Hygiene Talk’ on September 19, 2024. Led by Biology teacher Mrs. Ashu Shaik, the session covered vital topics related to menstrual health, hygiene products, and cycle tracking. This empowering initiative helped raise awareness among adolescent girls, equipping them with the knowledge to manage their menstrual health confidently. The program was organized under the guidance of Vice Principal Mrs. Husena and supported by Principal Mrs. Ritu Mathur.

Health Screening Camp for Safai Mitra: September 24, 2024

In recognition of the invaluable contributions of the school’s sanitary staff, a health screening camp was held for Safai Mitras on September 24, 2024. Conducted by students of Class XII B under the supervision of the school nurse, the camp included general medical check-ups, blood pressure, BMI, and blood sugar tests. The event, inaugurated by Principal Mrs. Ritu Mathur and Vice Principal Mrs. Husena Khedwala, aimed to ensure the health and well-being of the sanitary staff, in alignment with the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign.

Swachhata Quiz Competition: September 26, 2024

The Social Science Department of IIS organized a quiz competition as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, involving students from classes 6 to 8 on September 26, 2024. The competition tested students’ knowledge of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan through a reading comprehension-based written quiz. The event was successfully managed by faculty members Mrs. Priyanka, Mrs. Tasnim C., Mrs. Chitra, Mrs. Zainab, and Mr. Satheesan, under the leadership of Principal Mrs. Ritu Mathur and Vice Principal Mrs. Husena Khedwala.

Slogan Writing Competition: September 29, 2024

A Slogan Writing Competition for students in classes 6 to 12 was held on September 29, 2024. Aligned with the CBSE theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata,’ the event focused on promoting cleanliness as a value and mindset. Students participated enthusiastically, creating impactful slogans that reflected their understanding of environmental responsibility and hygiene. The competition fostered creativity and a sense of ownership over personal and community cleanliness.

Cleanliness Drive:September 30, 2024

A cleanliness drive was organized on September 30, 2024, with students, staff, and faculty members actively participating in cleaning the school premises. Divided into teams, participants covered various areas, including classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and common spaces. The drive emphasized the importance of waste segregation and proper disposal, reinforcing the principles of Swachh Bharat. This initiative helped instill a sense of responsibility towards environmental hygiene among students and staff.

Tree Plantation Drive: October 1, 2024

As part of the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign, IIS organized a tree plantation drive on October 1, 2024. Students from Classes 1 to 12, alongside teachers and staff, planted saplings across the school campus, promoting environmental sustainability and cleanliness. The event was an inspiring demonstration of the school’s commitment to fostering a cleaner and greener future. The initiative also included a poster-making and slogan-writing competition centered around the theme of tree plantation, further reinforcing the importance of environmental care.

Gandhi Jayanthi and Swachhata Hi Sewa Celebration: October 2, 2024

On the occasion of the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Integrated Indian School celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi in conjunction with the nationwide Swachhata Hi Sewa initiative on October 2, 2024. The program featured a range of performances, including a skit, speeches, Nukkad Natak, mime, dance, and the Swachhta Shapath (Cleanliness Pledge). The event emphasized the values of non violence, cleanliness, and community service, inspired by Gandhiji’s teachings. The celebration brought together students, teachers, and staff, reinforcing the importance of a clean and green India.

Swachhata Hi Sewa Selfie Point

A unique initiative during the campaign was the creation of a Selfie Point at the school entrance. Students, staff, and visitors were encouraged to take selfies, promoting the campaign’s message of cleanliness and hygiene. The photos were shared on social media, amplifying the Swachhata message beyond the school community. Through these diverse activities, Integrated Indian School has made a meaningful contribution to the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign.
