The Indian Badminton Association Kuwait (IBAK) successfully conducted the 9th edition of Kuwait Badminton League at its Salwa Gym (Saad Al Awzi School) on 26th ,27th Sep and 3rd Oct 2024. The tournament brought together some of the top talent from Kuwait, offering spectators a thrilling display of skill, endurance, and sportsmanship.
The KDD KBL 2024 badminton tournament was inaugurated by V.V. Subramanian VP & Chief Business Officer,KDD, in the presence of Dr Manimara Chozhan – Chairman IBAK along with other IBAK committee members. During his speech, Mr Subramanian congratulated the badminton players. He also iterated that KDD is planning for something special in the 10th edition of KBL.
“Royal Stars” delivered an exceptional performance throughout the competition, culminating in a hard-fought final match against “Shuttle Stingers", who secured the runner-up position. The final game was a nail-biter, with both teams showing their best form, but “Royal Stars” ultimately took the crown after an intense game. Players from both teams were recognized for their exceptional performance, with standout players from “Royal Stars” demonstrating great teamwork and strategic play that led them to victory. Team 5.30 and USC put up strong performances and reached the semi-finals, proving to be formidable contenders.

Six dynamic teams, Team 5.30, Thanjai Ninjas, Royal Stars, USC, Shuttle Stingers, and ISA competed for glory. In total, 90 matches were scheduled against 18 ties for the 6 teams which participated in this tournament. 198 games in total was played for 7109 points. The event, which attracted widespread attention from sports enthusiasts across Kuwait, was praised for its high level of competition and organization.
KDD KBL tournament which is a cornerstone event in IBAK’s calendar, not only showcased local talent but also fostered a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants. IBAK extends its heartfelt thanks to KDD for their generous sponsorship and support, making this event a resounding success.
With the successful conclusion of this year’s event, all eyes are already on next competition, IBAK Slam which is an International event where International players from different countries will take part and compete in this tournament.
