Hindi is spoken by almost half a billion people worldwide, making it the third most spoken language globally. The Indian Community School Kuwait (ICSK), Khaitan, celebrated Hindi Diwas on September 16, 2024. The Hindi Department organized a “Kavi Sammelan” to mark the occasion. Eminent poets from the Writers’ Forum, including Dr. Maimuna Ali Chougle (President), Mrs. Nazneen Ali Naaz (General Secretary), Mrs. Anupama Chaturvedi, and Mrs. Sangeeta Choubey Pankhudi, were the chief guests for the event.
The program began with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of Kuwait and India. Principal K. G. Shirsath, in his welcome address, extended a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests from the Writers’ Forum. The chief guests were then felicitated by the teachers of the Hindi Department. In his speech, Principal Shirsath emphasized the importance of the Hindi language and highlighted how it differs from English.
