The Heartbeat of Education: Our Teachers

Every year on September 5th, we come together to celebrate Teachers' Day—a day dedicated to honoring the remarkable individuals who shape our minds and mold our character. A day to express our gratitude to our beloved teachers, a day of fond memories and nostalgia and a day to acknowledge all the teachers who contribute their time for our bright future.

On September 2nd, when all the girls told us about teachers day and to surprise them. We decided to collect money from everyone who is willing to give and raise a fund to buy a large cake, decorations, gifts, etc. At that time, I realized that after 2 days, it was teacher's day. My mind went back to my 4th Standard when I celebrated the last teachers day before COVID pandemic. In my mind, many smiling and angry faces appeared from my kindergarten to 9th. It was like I was time- traveling to the past.

When I first went to my playschool, I did not understand anything and wanted to stay with my parents and younger brother. Later, as days went on I went to my kindergarten and I still remember my class, it is LKG B. She is not at all strict, she is so calm and friendly. In my kindergarten, even though my teachers looked strict, they were the ones who taught me how to read and write. They always took care of me in school. When I completed my kindergarten, I went to my primary class where I met with a lot of wonderful and lovely teachers like Shabana ma’am, Fairoz ma’am and my other teachers. Unfortunately, she left the school. Shabana ma’am is one of the amazing teachers I met in my 2nd class. She also took substitutions in my moral science periods.

During my third standard, my class teacher was Nagamani ma’am, she was strict but was a very caring teacher. At that time, I started to make many friends. One of my best friends at that time was Sudev. But my fourth standard is one of the best classes in my life. I had one of the best class teachers, Neem ma’am and best friends in that class. Some of them were, Juned, Madhav, Kunal, Aron and Alvin. We even gave a surprise party to all the teachers on teachers day. We all students came early in the school, decorated the whole class, bought a butter-chocolate cake and waited for the ma'am to come because there was an assembly in the auditorium for teachers. And when ma’am entered the class, we blasted the party poppers and wished ma'am HAPPY TEACHERS DAY. But sadly, she went to India permanently.

After the exams, COVID pandemic started and at first we could not join the class because of many errors in the classes. And finally, they introduced ICSK CONNECT to fix the errors in zoom. In this application, every morning we used to get our scheduled classes. But even in the pandemic, there were many good teachers who taught online. I would like to highlight some of my teachers who were very supportive during the critical situation such as Anu Ma’am our second science teacher and class teacher, Fathima ma’am (English Teacher) and Anjana Dhinoji (Maths Teacher) she was one the most strict teacher in our school. When I was in fourth grade, I always heard about her and saw her talking with our class teacher.

In class 6, the schools reopened for limited students. Those who wanted to come to school should fill the form and send it to the class teacher. There were 12 students in Group A and Group B. I was in Group A and needed to go to school alternatively like Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. When I went to the school, there were six students and the benches were kept so far from each other. All the students were my best friends, especially Shayaan. He is my best friend now also. Sheena ma'am, Fathima ma'am, Sana ma'am and Suji ma'am were my teachers in class 6. We also celebrated teachers day online and me, Ayman Mohammad, Tia Roses and some other students conducted a skit in online. And it was an amazing teachers day in COVID pandemic.

Not only the past teachers, l like my teachers this year also. Such as Saina ma'am, Fathima Chonari ma'am, Sreelakshmi ma'am, Jose Varghese sir, Naima ma'am, Joyashree ma'am, and many more. And how can I forget about my art and music teachers Mumtaz Firoz and Sana ma'am (Art Teacher) and Sindhu ma'am (Music Teacher), they always supported me to draw and sing. I couldn't select a subject as my best subject because every subject has its own unique way of learning like in math we have to solve hard problems in a fun and difficult way, in science listening to ma’am explanations and testing chemicals is a interesting way for me, in social science we learn about our national leaders and know about great emperors is way more than ever. Therefore, I cannot choose one subject as my favorite but indeed I choose every subject as my favorite.

Teachers are like mentors who help students become future leaders. They guide us in our careers and teach us to be good people. They also help us to be better members of society and good citizens. Every student will have likes and dislikes about your teacher but a teacher is a teacher. They work hard every day to prepare for a lecture in the class. So, we students should respect teachers and not disturb them. Because behind all successful students are the hands of a teacher in some other way. And as famous Malala Yousafzai said “One book, one pen, one child and one teacher can change the world”.

HAPPY TEACHERS DAY!!!!!!!
