Investiture Ceremony at IPS Salmiya

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way." —John C. Maxwell

Indian Public School, Salmiya conducted its Investiture Ceremony on 1st June 2024 at the school auditorium. This ceremony marks the appointment of student leaders who will shoulder the responsibility of leading their fellow peers with integrity, compassion, and dedication. Investiture ceremony holds a special place in the school calendar as it embodies the spirit of transformation, growth, and empowerment. It signifies a transition from being followers to becoming leaders, from being passive participants to active contributors in shaping the school community. The investiture ceremony presents an opportunity to instill leadership qualities such as responsibility, empathy, and resilience in young learners. The deserving candidates were nominated and elected by the principal and teachers with conscious deliberation.

The Chief Guest for the ceremony was the Principal of Aspire Indian International School Ms Geetika Ahuja. The programme commenced with the traditional lamp lighting which is symbolic of the light of knowledge driving away the darkness of ignorance. The leaders were invested with their titles and badges by the Chief Guest along with the Principal of the school, Mrs Annamma Cherian. The student council marched in harmony to the rhythmic beats and installed the flags in the bastion, taking a pledge to uphold the values of the school. The enchanting welcome dance which was a classical medley, the leadership songs and the scintillating aerobic dance enthralled all present.

The Chief Guest Ms Geetika Ahuja, in her address, reminded the student leaders the ABCD of leadership which they should demonstrate- aspiring, believable, courageous and dedicated. The Principal of Indian Public School Mrs Annamma Cherian appreciated and congratulated the students, their parents and teachers for the commendable performance in the Board Examinations 2023-2024. She applauded the student leaders and asked them to be true role models in whatever they do. She asked them not to be deterred by failures as it is the stepping stone to success. She exhorted the parents to shower the children with love and spend quality time with them, taking away the electronic gadgets.

The trophy for the Inter-House competitions in the academic year 2023-’24 was bagged by Ruby House. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by the Vice- Principal of the school, Mr Anil Kumar. He extended gratitude to all those who worked in making the programme a resounding success. is now on WhatsApp Channel    Follow Channel
