October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, Kuwait Odisha Association (KOA) commemorated the Breast Cancer Awareness Program for the second consecutive year by dedicating October 27th as the Pink Day at Salmiya.
The Program was inaugurated with welcome address by Mr. Umesh Panda, President KOA.
The Event was well attended by Panelists like Dr. Soviet Selvi MD (Specialist OBS & GYNAE) of London Hospital, Dr Rifat Jehan (Senior medical oncologist Breast unit) of KCCC, Dr Asit Mohanty (Medical Oncologist) of KCCC. It was a privilege to hear from the diverse panelists.
The Panelists noted that breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women and one of the more common causes of cancer death amongst women. Panelists pointed out that being informed about breast cancer is the first step to fighting it and stressed the importance of early detection of breast cancer, which is key to recovery.
The overall program was facilitated by moderator Mr. Girija Shankar Padhy and ensured participants’ involvements with elaborated question answer sessions.
The Event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Satyabrata Sutar, General Secretary, KOA.
