The air was abuzz with excitement and gratitude as Salmiya Indian School celebrated Teachers' Day in a grand and heartwarming manner, orchestrated with love and devotion by the dedicated members of the Student Council. The event, held on 17th September 2023, was a momentous occasion to honour the pillars of wisdom and guidance in our lives.

Self-Governing Day

‘Self -Governing Day ‘ prior to the Teachers’ Day Celebration was executed by the senior students allowing them to take the reins and govern themselves, fostering a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. The senior students were assigned middle and primary classes letting them enhance their leadership skills, team work and decision making abilities. The entire student -teacher team was photographed with the Head Boy and Head Girl of the Students Council.

A Self-Governing Day before Teachers' Day celebrations can set a positive tone for appreciating teachers and building a stronger sense of community within the school.

Cake Cutting Ceremony

The Teachers' Day celebration kicked off with an exuberant inaugural ceremony, setting the tone for the day's festivities. The Students Council warmly welcomed the esteemed Owner of the school, Dr. Shaikha Maimoona Al Sabah , Mr. Ibrahim Dashti , Director and Principal Dr. Anis Ahmad , Assistant Manager and Senior Wing Counsellor Ms. Mashael, esteemed Vice Principal Ms. Sajitha Menon and the phenomenal teaching staff, highlighting their invaluable contributions in shaping the lives of students and nurturing their aspirations. It was followed by the cutting of the cake by the management which marked a memorable juncture. The gathering was addressed by Esteemed Dr. Shaikha Maimoona, emphasizing the indispensable role teachers play in shaping their futures.

Distribution of Tributes

The management took the opportunity to recognize and honour outstanding teachers for their remarkable efforts in achieving 100% students success in the CBSE and IGCSE Board Examination. Certificates were also awarded to teachers for 100% attendance, amidst thunderous applause, acknowledging the relentless commitment of these educators.

Heartfelt Expressions

The students showcased their immense love and respect for their teachers through a spectrum of heartfelt performances. The auditorium reverberated with joyous laughter and applause as the student body presented skits, dances, musical renditions, and fun filled games , all centered around the theme of appreciation and gratitude.

A Feast for the Soul

The celebration would not have been complete without a delightful spread of refreshments for the teachers and students; including some thoughtful giveaways for the teachers as a token of appreciation and recognition for their hard work and dedication.

As the day came to a close, the prevailing sentiment was one of deep gratitude and joy. The Teachers' Day celebration organized by the Student Council was a resounding success, a tribute to the incredible teachers who tirelessly devote themselves to shaping the leaders of tomorrow. The memories created will forever remain etched in the hearts of all present, reminding us of the importance of honouring those who guide us on our educational journey.
