A compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge, and wisdom - TEACHER

On 5th September, a day dedicated to celebrating teachers the world over, Carmel School Kuwait, did just that – Celebrate Its Teachers.

However, this year, the school decided to host its Teacher's Day program on the 9th September, making it a memorable and joyous event for both, teachers and students. The program, aptly named ‘Stars of Carmel’ was meticulously organized by Sister Saritha, the Vice-Principal, and the dedicated Cabinet of 2023, along with enthusiastic participation of 11th graders and students from grades 2, 3, 4, and 10. The theme of the event was brilliantly executed as the auditorium reverberated a magical ambience – pearl lights illuminating the pervading darkness, together with the shimmer of silver and gold – the colors of teachers’ attire.

The program began with a feel-good welcome song, that set the tone for what was to come. This was followed by prayer & a prayer dance performed by the little ones of grades 2, 3, and 4. The most heartwarming segment of the program, however, was the delivering of letters to the teachers. Each letter was a heartfelt message from current Carmel students and alumni, highlighting the indelible impact of their educators. This sure left a lasting impression on the teachers, reminding them of their profound influence on students, year after year.

The program continued with a captivating classical dance performance and an inspiring speech by Sister Christy Maria, the Principal. A lively quiz for teachers was followed by several spot prizes. One significant segment was the tribute to the teachers. It facilitated expression of gratitude and admiration for the teachers in a personal meaningful manner.

Entertainment continued with an expressionless dance that added an element of humor to the event and a fusion dance, incorporating elements of jive, Bollywood, and Western dance styles, keeping the audience enthralled. A unique and fun-filled ramp walk saw all teachers take center stage, adding glamour to the special day. The Carmel band then serenaded the teachers with soulful music.

The highlight of the evening though, was the felicitation of two beloved teachers - Mrs. Seena and Mrs. Marina, who had completed an incredible 25 years of service at Carmel School. Several teachers were awarded for their punctuality and for always turning up every single day.

The program concluded with a beautiful song performed by the 11th graders that seamlessly transitioned into the grand finale dance. It was evident at culmination, that this year's Teacher's Day celebrations at Carmel School was a resounding success - filled with gratitude, appreciation, and unforgettable moments.

“Teacher, you are the reason we excel in what we do. We wouldn’t be who we are today if it weren’t for you.”
