The staff and students of Salmiya Indian Modern School celebrated Hindi Diwas on 10th September, 2023 in the school auditorium as a mark of acknowledgement of HINDI as the National Language. The celebrations began with the Invocation Dance by the students followed by various cultural activities. Speaking on the occasion Principal Dr. Anis Ahmed gave an insight and importance of Hindi Dohas in our daily life and urged everyone to feel proud of our National language. He added that Hindi language- just as its’ name as jingling as a music to the ears when heard ,powerful and mighty,having a senses of belongingness when spoken and as mesmerizing when written . He recalled the day 14th September 1949 when the constitution of India adopted and gave the status to Hindi as Official Language.
Further to add more grace to the celebration he recited few lines of the great poet Pradeep
“ham laye he tufan se kisthi nikal ke..,
ye desh ko rakhna mere bacho samal ke” and all the teachers joined him repeating the chorus.
Vice Principal Sajitha Menon, addressing the audience emphasized that we should be proud of our national language and should learn to speak in public domain without any hesitation. She appreciated the Department of Hindi for organizing such a wonderful event in a very short span of time.
Throughout the cultural events the following lines were repeated in unison
Hindi hamaari shaan hai; desh ka abhimaan hai
Ham Hai Hindustani, Hindi Bhasha Hamko Pyaari hai’
The programme was concluded with the words of gratitude by Varsha K , the Head of The Department of Hindi. She deeply acknowledged and appreciated each and every one for making the event a grand success.
