India got Independence on 15th August; this day is celebrated in India as a national festival dotted with cultural program, competitions, flag-hoisting ceremonies, and parades.The day holds great significance in the heart of every Indian citizen living in India and abroad. As India ceased to be a colonial nation and secured full autonomy from the British that ruled over it for around 200 years.
To mark this day; on Friday, August 25, 2023 — The UPNRI Forum, in its unwavering commitment to preserving cultural heritage and fostering unity, successfully organized a spectacular Indian Independence Day celebration. The event took place at the Indian Community School Salmiya, senior branch, and was attended by over 300 esteemed guests and dignitaries.
Dr. Mohan Ram, President UP NRI FORUM Kuwait led the grand celebration. He addressed the audience and welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Muzammil Mallik, whose inspiring words ignited the spirit of patriotism and unity among all attendees. The event was further honored by the esteemed presence of Guest of Honors: Dr. Dheeraj Bhardwaj, Dr. Anis Ahmad, and Dr. Diwakara Chaluvaiah. Their valuable insights and contributions added a scholarly touch to the celebration, emphasizing the significance of India's journey towards freedom and progress.
The program was an embodiment of cultural vibrancy, comprising captivating performances that showcased the rich and diverse heritage of India. The program was impeccably hosted by Mr. Masood Hassas & Mr. Mohamad Shahid, with the seamless flow skillfully supported by Mr. Noorul Hasan, Mr. Habib Alvi, Mr. Mahboob Abdullah, Mr. Kaleem Ansari, Mr. Gaurav Bhatnagar, and the rest of the dedicated UP NRI Forum team members.
Attendees were treated to mesmerizing dance routines by UPNRI FORUM KIDS, soul-stirring musical performances, informative documentary on Uttar Pradesh “One District One Product” produced by Mr. Mujeeb Akhter, Patriotic Song by Dr. Madhu Gupta and thought-provoking speeches by the dignitaries.
This event was a true reflection of the UPNRI Forum's dedication to promoting unity among the Indian diaspora and fostering a strong sense of community. Through their tireless efforts, the forum has once again proven its ability to bring people together and create cherished memories. Mr. Jitendra Kuntal was honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of his exceptional dedication and service to the UPNRI Forum.
