On 29th August 2023, India International School was abuzz with exhilaration as the whole school, rejuvenated by their blissful vacations, converged once again to partake in a much-awaited occasion – the vibrant observance of Onam. The staff members adhered to the colour code, half white, depicting a harmonious blend of tradition and deep-rooted culture fostering a sense of unity.
The Programme was graced by the presence of Director- Malayil Moosa Koya, Principal- K.V. Indulekha, Vice-Principal -Saleem Kundungal, Head Mistress -Sridevi Neelakannan, and Coordinators, Mrs. Najiyah Kader, Mrs. Prema Balasubramanyan, and Mr. Shihab Nilgiri. The auspicious day was orchestrated by the twelfth graders as a gesture of gratitude, presenting cherished memories to the school in their final year. Nuha and Zarar, with their natural flair and eloquence, assumed the mantle of event hosts, seamlessly steering the proceedings of the day.
The programme commenced with a prayer delivered eloquently by Faiz and Irfan following its translation by Arwa. Rohit’s song imbued the atmosphere with enchanting melodies captivating the audience.
Madhav's stand-up comedy was truly entertaining, as his witty anecdotes and humorous observations resonated, filling the venue with uproarious laughter and delight.
The mesmerizing and captivating traditional dances presented by the girls left a lasting impression on everyone. Simultaneously, the boys' performances were equally impressive, displaying remarkable skill and enthusiasm that reverberated across the ground.
Noel’s grand entry as an incarnation of Mahabali, captured the attention of all. With regal poise and an aura of benevolence, he truly brought the legendary king to life before our eyes.
The remarkable day concluded with loads of good wishes from Principal K.V. Indulekha. Her words struck a chord, when she enunciated the essence of Onam, emphasizing its role in the sharing of traditions and culture, while also shedding light on the mythical history of King Mahabali. Furthermore, she appreciated the efforts of the council team in making this day a special one.
