IMA Ladies Wing Conducts Webinar on ‘Stress Management’

“Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest” (Qur’an 13:28) means we should completely surrender ourselves to the Creator. Hearts find peace when you revert to your Creator physically and spiritually was the opening remark of one of the keynote speakers Mrs. Shamima Khanum while speaking in an online Webinar via zoom on topic ‘Stress Management in the light of Qur’an and Sunnah’ conducted by Indian Muslim Association-Ladies Wing on 24th August,2023.

She elaborated that there are four doors to our heart i.e., our eyes, ears, tongue, and our intelligence, which we should always keep in our control. We should utilize these channels or sources wisely to benefit ourselves. You should always have faith in your Creator, have patience while facing bad times and never take wrong decisions in anger or in tension. Nowadays suicide is considered as one of the easiest ways to escape from worries and difficulties of life, especially by youngsters. But even after death the person who committed suicide will be punished in the hereafter as well.

She further highlighted that the stress can be defined as a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation and stress management is the process of acquiring and practicing a variety of cognitive and behavioral techniques with the goal of managing and coping with stress.

She concluded her speech with this note that the more you trust your Creator the more you will be close to him. You will get mental peace and rest only when you are connected to your Creator.

She discussed in detail as how to manage our emotions. First, we must Identify ourselves, regulate, motivate, empathize, and work on social skill development which will lead to a happy and prosperous life. She quoted many verses from Qur’an which teaches us how to tackle in difficult situations and the Creator never overburdens us.

She quoted a verse from Holy Quran Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286) which says that. “Our Creator does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned”.
