Kuwait - My Second Home

“Thankfulness is the beginning of Gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of Thankfulness. Thankfulness consists merely of words. Gratitude is shown through actions.”

Before I start with the most simple words that I would like to convey through this article. Just letting everyone know that I am myself just a student of 12 years of age and everything listed below is just the thoughts which have formed in my mind when I first went through this topic. Kindly understand this as just the mere understanding and feelings of a child of my age.

To start things off , I would like to state my foremost thoughts about Kuwait. Kuwait is a small , beautiful country situated in the GCC. Kuwait is a very educated , socially and technologically developed country. Kuwait has many of the luxuries that I never imagined a Gulf Country would possess. It has great malls , monuments , museums and other attractions in hold for us. Although I was born and brought up in Kuwait till the age of four , I had to leave the country and shift to India for some personal matters. After four years , when I was eight years old , I was to be returning back to Kuwait. I couldn’t have been more excited to be back to the country that formed a major part of who I am and whoever I will be in the future. The first thing I saw in Kuwait was the Airport. Even though the Airport here was much smaller than that in Kochi ( the airport near my residing place). It was a sight to see , the airport was much more advanced in terms of technology and looked fantastic. I admired Kuwait from the moment I stepped here. Kuwait isn’t as beautiful as India , but it was far better than many places in India. Here it was quite barren and deserted. If I’m being honest, although it was barren , it was wondrous . I absolutely loved my flat and it had such a nice view of the place I was residing in at first , Abu Halifa. Then I got admitted into Indian Learners’ Own Academy , a prestigious and well known school in Kuwait , but there was a slight problem. The school was located in Jleeb Al Shuyoukh , more commonly known as Abbasiya and Abu Halifa was way too far from my new school. It was difficult for all of us to cope up with the distance as the travel took us nearly 2 hours each day and we would often be left with very scarce time to do our work. Later on , we had no other option but to shift to Abbasiya. Abbasiya was certainly not like Abu Halifa. I didn’t like our flat here either , it was literally half of the flat we had in Abu Halifa. I was seriously nothing but distressed and disappointed. But I later on understood that our flat is actually big for a flat in Abbasiya. School and Church both were within walking distance. I learned one of the most important lessons in my life. How to be grateful. This was because of Abbasiya. Abbasiya taught me that it's not the looks that matter , it's the personality. The place taught me to be thankful for even the small things I am blessed with. This place taught me that life cannot be measured by the resources you have , but rather has to be seen through how resourceful you are. Kuwait is a lovely country which has offered jobs for my parents with good paying salaries with which we have survived and earned what all we are today. Kuwait is a country that has gone through numerous struggles before reaching the success it has earned today and will continue to earn in the future. The life lessons that these places have taught me will never remain in my mind , It will be engraved in me forever instead. These lessons couldn’t have been taught to me unless I’ve experienced it and hence Kuwait has made me the person I am today. Kuwait is a lovely country that has helped me with nothing but my best. I am thankful to Kuwait for making me understand the life lessons I understand today.
