SIF-Kuwait Children’s Science Congress 2022 winners participated in National Children’s Science Congress

Winners of Kuwait Children’s Science Congress (KCSC) 2022, organized by Science International Forum (SIF) Kuwait participated in the 30th National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) held at Gujarat Science City and SAL Education Campus, Ahmedabad from 27th to 31st January 2023. The projects were well appreciated by the evaluators and visitors alike.

NCSC is a flagship program of the National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India conducted to spread the concept and method of science among children by adopting the principle of learning through doing for the students of 10-17 years of age across the country.

The 30th NCSC was hosted by the Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST), Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat as main host and Gujarat Science City and SAL Education Campus, Ahmedabad as co-hosts. Main theme of the NCSC was “Understanding Ecosystem for Health and Well-bring”. Other than scientific presentations, participants also enjoyed various cultural programs, interactive and technical sessions and teacher workshops. Students and guide teachers also experienced the thrill at World of Aquatics and Robotics at Science city, the world of Virtual Reality: Immersive Experience of a Chemistry lab, Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre and a trip to the Statue of Unity.

Qualifying teams were selected during 6th edition of Kuwait Children’s Science Congress (KCSC) which was successfully conducted on 25 November 2022 at Bhavans Smart Indian School. The judges panel from Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait University and Dasman Diabetes Institute included senior scientists Dr. S Neelamani, Dr. Mohan Rana, Dr. Rakesh, Dr. Jafarali Parol, Dr. Jayasree Chakkamalayath, Dr. Maribasappa, Dr. S. Chidambaram, Dr. Irshad, Dr. Sreekanth K. J., Dr. Zubbair Malik, Dr. Krishnakumar Sugumaran and Mr. Hariharan. 45 teams of young scientists from 16 Indian schools in Kuwait participated in two categories. Two member students team showcased their inventive and unique scientific projects to the large crowd of parents, teachers and well-wishers.

Teams from Aspire Indian International School and United Indian School were qualified for National Children’s Science Congress participation from Senior category and the teams from Indian Educational School (Bhavans Kuwait) and Indian Community School Kuwait Amman Branch were qualified in the Junior category. 2 senior teams and 2 junior teams from various schools got Outstanding mention with A grade. Best Presentation, Best Creative Project and Future Spark award for the best conceptual project in both categories were also declared.

Four spot competitions conducted were well accepted by the community with massive participation of over 500 students in different categories. All the winners will be honored at the Annual Science Gala, scheduled to be held at a future date which will be announced soon.
