International Programmers’ Day at Bhavans SIS

On account of International Programmers’ Day, Smart Indian School’s

Computer Science department planned to make a difference.

This day is celebrated on September 13, or the 256th day of the year. The day honours programmers and innovators who make our lives easier by innovating and designing programs. It is celebrated based on the binary code! Every programmer knows that 256 is a special number which is represented by an eight-bit byte 256 equals 2 to the eighth power. This digit makes it the highest power of two that is less than 365. When translated to binary code, the day reads 1 0000 0000.

This year, competitions were conducted among the students of grades 7 to 12. The interested students had enrolled themselves for participation before 30 August 2022. The topics were photoshop, web page design, and paper presentation. Students were judged based on their creativity, presentation, coding, and decoding knowledge.

Technological disruption is quite evident in global industries, starting from smart TVs and technologically advanced gizmos. Besides, with the rising prominence of coding the occasion of Programmers’ Day also reminds us that behind every software is a lot of hard work and creativity. ”
