Friday 27th May 2022 was a special evening for the members of the Writers' Forum Kuwait, when they met at the residence of Dr. (Mrs.) Radhika Guleri Bhardwaj to celebrate the launch of recently published poetry book "Chand Gham Ka" of their member and famous Urdu poet Saeed Nazar Kadpawi. The distribution of the Forum's book "Navratna" was an icing on the cake. Navratna is an anthology of poems and articles in different Indian languages by members of the Forum. The distribution of this book (which was released in early 2020) was long due because of the ongoing Pandemic.
The meeting started with the General Secretary of the Forum Ms. Nazneen Ali greeting everybody and congratulating them for the double celebrations of the day. In view of the celebrations of the books at hand, she invited the Forum's President Mrs. Maimuna Ali Chougle to preside over the meeting while Saeed Nazar Kadpawi was welcomed as the Chief Guest of the day.
While the presence of Ali Chougle, the Forum's patron and well-wisher, and Odia poet Biswa Ranjan’s presence was a matter of immense pleasure for the members, they were equally excited and cherished the company of each other. Vivid poetic colours were spread during the meeting when poets of different languages, genre and styles recited their unique and mesmerizing creations which reflected the newer heights and standards that the Forum has reached over the years.
Ms. Sabiha Bilgrami and Mohan Singh (on behalf of Parminder Kaur) recited in English. Aamir Diwan, Ms. Kamla Prakash and Ms. Anupama Chatruvedi presented their poetry in Hindi and Mrs. Maimuna Ali Chougle, Dr. Radhika Guleri Bhardwaj and Shakeel Jamshedpuri recited their Urdu poetries and Ghazal. The multilingual concept of the Forum was well maintained with Pankaj Pawan reciting a Punjabi Ghazal.
Apt to the occasion, Ms. Nazneen Ali presented her article on the newly released book "Chand Gham Ka" by Saeed Nazar. She also congratulated Mohan Singh on the release of the English poetry book - Phoenix by his daughter and former member of the Forum Parminder Kaur. This was well backed by greetings from other members as well.
The chief guest of the evening Saeed Nazar thanked everyone for making him relive the happy moments of his book launch which was done in India in the first week of May. He thanked all the members particularly the President Mrs. Maimuna Chougle whose guidance is leading the Forum to newer heights. Mrs. Maimuna Chougle reciprocated similar feelings in her Presidential comments. While she appreciated Saeed Nazar's craft of writing, she appreciated all the members for their efforts in keeping the Forum as creative and inspiring as possible.
The meeting ended with Nazneen Ali thanking the members for their presence and expressing her gratitude to the hosts Dr Radhika and Rajesh Bhardwaj for their warm hospitality.
