The first VBA OPEN 2022 tournament was held at Victor Badminton Academy, Al – Sahil Sports club Abuhalifa on 20th May 2022.

The tournament was held in the three stadiums on 17 courts. A record 159 teams participated across 6 doubles categories, namely Professional advance, Advance, Intermediate, lower intermediate, above 40 and Women’s.

The tournament directors were Mr. Anand Sashidharan and Mr. Rajmohan and the category co-ordinators were; Professional – Advance -Mr. Prakash Muttel, Advance – Mr. Gireesh Divakran, Above 40 – Mr. Thomas Kunnil , Intermediate – Mr. Joemon, Lower intermediate – Mr. Jeothish Cherian and Mr. Maneesh Thankachan and Women’s – Mr. Sharoon P. Aynikkal and Mr. Bibin M Pappalil.

The tournament was a runaway success with both player and spectators participation.

A Raffle draw was done for all participants and the winners were given Victor racquets and T-Shirts.

Our Sponsor Al mulla exchange conducted a raffle draw and winners were given prizes by its Marketing Manager Mr. Huzefa Abbasi.
