Let the Crackers Burst!!!!

It is yet another Diwali season during the Covid-19 pandemic and nothing’s stopping our spirits to bring enthusiasm into our homes. The lighting of Diya’s and candles, spreading colorful Rangoli and to have the much-awaited Diwali sweets filled with a melancholy taste which drenches ourselves into the Diwali spirit.

Even though in Kuwait, there are not many cases of covid, people must have changed their mindset that we can gather with no masks and enjoy Deepavali well that's wrong as Covid is Covid and the level of sickness experienced may not change so we should make sure that we spend our Deepavali festive safely.

This is just a reminder and I am not letting down the Diwali spirit of the readers. Well coming back to the topic we all must be buying sweets, buying Diya’s, making colored powder for Rangoli's etc. Do you know why they are important for Diwali celebrations? Diya’s are considered as a lamp in the darkness as they are mentioned in the Skanda Purana represents the sun and brings light into our lives.

Rangoli's are beautiful rainbows of colors that are believed to welcome goddess Lakshmi on this prosperous day.

People clean up their homes and decorate their houses and wear new dresses and pray to goddess Lakshmi the god of wealth and prosperity to bring wealth and prosperity into each one's life. Traditional Diwali sweets such as Pedas, coconut Burfi’s, Ladoo, Jalebi’s etc. are given to our relatives, friends, family to share the moment with sweetness and pleasure and it shows our gratitude and respect towards our guests as the shloka Athiti Devo Bhava can be related.

Another fun moment is while we decorate the Rangoli or when we make sweets and food together with our family, the time we put, joy, love is what makes a Diwali season more happy and memorable.

In my experience at Kuwait even though we never get to rejoice Diwali like we do in India grandly my family at least makes time to burst crackers outside our building calling our friends and trying out different crackers.

Thus, Diwali is the time to enjoy our valuable time safely and memorably.

Happy Diwali Dear Readers!!!!!
