Glimpses of Timeless India

Being an artist, I find joy in every artwork. An artist turns creativity into action by designing imagination. A couple of days ago, I got an opportunity to experience the creative artworks of an exceptional and accomplished artist, Ms Joice Sibi. When I walked through her Art Exhibition at the Kuwait Art Association Hall, Hawally, as a part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, a celebration to commemorate 75 years of Indian Independence conducted by the Embassy of India, Kuwait, I noticed an exquisite collection of paintings based on themes of Timeless India.

I was mesmerized on the seeing the huge crowd arriving at the venue. On seeing several happy faces, I felt it would definitely be a fruitful experience. And so, it did. Each painting had a different dimension and an aesthetic sense. Each piece of art defined India’s distinct feature, from sensitive emotions to Nation’s Pride. Few artworks were hard to interpret, but after referring the description mentioned alongside, I understood how deep each painting meant. As an artist, I was inspired by her mastery.

Viewing a few paintings such as ‘Serenity’, ‘Back Waters’, ‘Kathakali’, ‘Journey’ related to the state to which I belong ,Kerala, for a moment, it brought memories of my nostalgic homeland. Paintings that illustrated nature beautifully embraced Mother India. ‘Holy City of Varanasi’, ‘Sati’ a few to mention that I deeply admired. The series, “Seasons” is an exquisite play of colors and creativity.

There were art works based on the theme ‘Mother’ and ‘The Indian Tricolor flag’. As mentioned by mam during her speech on the inaugural day, the painting of ‘The Indian National Flag’ was a still art painting of an image captured by the artist herself on her visit to the Indian Embassy at Washington DC.

During the 11 day long exhibition, talented Indian Artists performed several dance forms portraying the rich and diverse art forms of India. Few of them, to mention were Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kathakali, Dance Drama, Kerala Nadanam etc. The art exhibition along with the cultural events brought together the complete sense of National pride. I thank Shri. Roopesh Ravi,President ,Yuva for India for inviting me to the program and for having me enjoy ‘Glimpses of Timeless India’.

I owe to my gurus Mrs.Sherly Biju and Shri Nigesh Karunakran for instilling the passion for art in me. This art exhibition has brought in new thoughts to explore deep and experiment them with soulful ideas.
