IES Kuwait Opens Its Gates For In-Person And Hybrid Learning

Globally, the reopening of schools has elicited mixed reactions, but governments have shown greenlight to the learning needs of children and the State of Kuwait has also joined the league of nations by responding positively to the educational needs of millions of children across the globe with strictest measures and stringent Covid-19 protocols to provide the learners with a no-fear environment that is conducive for learning.

The Preparations And Permission

Indian Education School (Bhavans Kuwait) has always placed the educational needs of the children on a higher pedestal. Foreseeing the possibility of on-campus classes, the renowned educational institution has sprung into action to reopen its doors for its most prized student community after a span of nearly 18 months of online education. The preparations to welcome the students back to the campus were teed off months ago. Covid protocols and safety measures have been implemented to the satisfaction of the teams of inspectors sent in by the ministry of health and the ministry of private education of Kuwait. A team led by Dr. Salman Al Lafi, Director of Private Education was followed by another team from the ministry of health visited the school. After rigorous rounds of scrutiny, the inspection teams granted permission to Indian Education School to open its gates for its students on the 26th of September 2021 triggering a wave of euphoria among Bhavanites.

The Long Wait Comes To An End

The historic day, which brought an end to the relentless wait for long 18 months for in-person learning witnessed a group of committed staff members dashing across the campus to make sure that everything humanly possible has been done to make learning hassle-free and joyous for their dear students. Nearly 40% students opted for on campus learning, of which KG – 4 and grades 10 and 12 students reported on the twenty sixth of September to the school. The remaining students will return to IES after the conclusion of their half-yearly examinations on the third of October 2021. The atmosphere suddenly lit up with the laughter of the students and even the walls of the school seemed to rejoice the homecoming of students just like trees exulting the arrival of spring after a frigid spell of winter.

The chairman of Bhavans Middle East Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon and the principal of IES Mr. T. Premkumar addressed the students on the first day of reopening. Mr. Menon urged Bhavanites to know their purpose in life and to make a head start on the competition by striving for excellence in their academic pursuits. He also heartily welcomed the young learners to the fully disinfected campus and reminded them to remain responsible throughout.

Mr. Premkumar also welcomed the students and reminded them of the importance of unwavering determination to surmount any difficulty in their paths leading to success.

Cutting-Edge Technology In Tandem With Human Resource

Tiny tots of kindergarten, students of the primary wing, and the students of grades ten and twelve were given a befitting welcome and were ushered to the classrooms after having their body temperature recorded by teacher-volunteers. The walls and corridors of the school displayed posters and illustrations pertaining to the Covid-19 safety guidelines. Floor marking stickers paved way for zero befuddlement and easy tracking of the classrooms. The campus also showcased a number of touchless sanitizer dispensers and soap dispensers fitted in restrooms and corridors. State-of-the-art disinfectant foggers sanitized the building before and after the classes heralding that the safety of students is of paramount prominence at IES. Dedicated maids have been appointed for each corridor on all the floors of the building to ensure that the building is 100% hygienic and safe for the teachers and the taught. Disinfected school buses plied between schools and residential areas at 50% of their seating capacity to ward off any possible infection among the bus users.

Bhavans Creates History Yet Again With Hybrid Mode Of Teaching

Bhavans IES, true to its reputation, once again proved that the wellbeing and progress of its students remain the top priority by any metric and by any yardstick. The grade ten and twelve students who chose to write their half-yearly examination in the school were provided with OMR sheets to answer the objective type questions and also to prepare them for the CBSE examinations that will be held in mid-November 2021.

Apart from this noble initiative, Bhavans also raised the bar high by turning almost every classroom into a hybrid classroom that integrates the latest software and top-notch hardware. The hybrid hardware kit includes high-speed computers, full HD cameras, and high-sensitive microphones seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Teams software to teach students of grades 5 to 12 in hybrid mode. The parent community of IES Kuwait expressed their happiness in the measures taken by the school management to make on-campus learning a pleasurable experience for their children.

Commitment Is In Its DNA

Bhavans Kuwait once again proved its steadfast commitment to the children under its care. Huge investment to turn ordinary classrooms into hybrid classrooms, the world-class state-of-the-art equipment installed in the campus, and the dedication of its staff to ensure the highest safety standards and hygienic conditions speak volumes and volumes of the school that keeps raising the bar repeatedly breaking its own records. No wonder, Bhavans Kuwait keeps scaling greater heights in the realms of curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities day in, day out.
