Whether you drive a Prado or a Pajero the road remains the same isn’t it? Whether you speak on a Samsung Phone or you speak on an iPhone X or Apple iPhone 12 pro whoever you are calling remains the same isn’t it? Whether you’re flying economic or you are flying business the destination remains the same isn’t it? Whether you are wearing a simple Fastrack or you wear a Fitbit Sense or a Samsung watch the time remains the same isn’t it? It is quite amazing how we work ourselves up so much with increasing the standard of living that we forget to increase the standard of our life. And that is why wherever we travel, we make an appeal to people; there is nothing wrong with a simple watch, there is nothing wrong with a Bentley. Allah/God blesses all of us with better things, and if we have it drive it- no problem. But in trying to enhance, increase and improvise the standard of our living, please, please do not compromise with the standard of our life. It’s not the standard of our living that makes us happy; it’s the standard of our life that makes us happy and where we often, forget to give attention to those things that can truly make us happy. That is why we always say things that we are talking about to have utility value and not happiness value? Travel business class or first class but travel no problem drive a Pajero no problem. But in doing so, never ever compromise on those principles that also improve the standard of your life. And therefore my parents always say that in this world some people are so poor, so absolutely poor, that all they have is money. That’s all they have. I consider that this type of life is a poverty striken life. If all you have is money, you are the poorest person in the world because there is more to life than money, and there is way to more life than what money can buy. And therefore my parents many times say if you truly want to know how rich you are, drop a tear and see how many hands come to wipe that tear. If you want to know a true friend travel with him/her so you will come to know how caring he/she is. Our happiness and our increased standard of life are not in things, it’s in people. Its relationships. Its meaning full, heartfelt deep bonding’s of love. That bring fulfillment to the heart. It’s those meaningful exchanges of love that we share with each other in relationships, that brings true joy to the heart. And isn’t it the greatest irony, it is something that brings the greatest fulfillment, we very conveniently neglect in just running after increasing and enhancing the standard of living.
It is not important that our house should be big but it is very- very important that our heart should be big.
