Aatmanirbhar Bharat

We all have been familiarized with many new words such as pandemic, quarantine, lockdown etc. in the past two years. But amongst all these words is one important word AATMANIRBHAR BHARAT. Hello Dear viewers and readers. This article is based on Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Aatmanirbhar Bharat is the vision of the prime minister Shri Narendra Modi to make India a self sufficient country. In different fields we have seen the encouragement of MADE IN INDIA goods.

In the defence sector, DRDO, Ashoka Leyland and many other Indian companies are coming forward to contribute to the development of this sector. Some of the examples that show the encouragement of Indian made goods are providing brand new Grenades to the Indian Army that have been created by Indian firm. Secondly, India has been testing many of its indigenous missiles that have been specially prepared by DRDO. Third one being the tanks provided by Ashoka Leyland to the Army. Apart from the Indian Army, the Navy have also built up the first Indian aircraft carrier that had successfully completed a maiden 5 day voyage and has been named INS Vikrant. The most important being the creation of the BRAHMOS missile by India and Russia.

Not limiting itself to the defence sector, the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat or MADE IN INDIA products can also be seen also in the development of space sector as well as during the pandemic situation in the medical field.

Under the space sector, the successful completion of Mangalyaan mission marked the beginning of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat scheme. Following this, India had developed Chandrayaan-2 and wanted it to land on the most important and most difficult part but could however not reach on to the expected point and now keeping all hopes high India is planning the Gaganyaan and the Chandrayan-3 all under the vision of self reliant India.

At the beginning of the pandemic, all countries including India suffered the shortage of essentials such as masks, sanitizers, basic medicines, oxygen etc. Government and some businessmen began setting up factories and oxygen plants to reduce the shortage. During the pandemic, many soldiers lost their lives due to the clash at the Galwan valley which resulted in boycott of Chinese goods and Indian goods had captured the Indian markets once again with all MADE IN INDIA goods. All these factors led to an increase in employment as small scale and medium scale industries were set up. After continuously working hard for months, Indian scientists successfully developed covid vaccines like Covishield. To transport the vaccines, to increase the pace of the vaccine production, more workers were required. During the second wave, more hospitals, more beds were arranged so more doctors and nursing staff were also required. Where other countries required doctors and medical staff, India had managed itself the second wave.

This one and a half year has clearly taught me and many others that our country is indeed self sufficient as it had enough to support the country as well as to export it to other countries be it food grains, vegetables or even vaccines.

Hence, summing up my article, for me Aatmanirbhar Bharat clearly means- MADE IN INDIA, MADE FOR INDIA, MADE BY INDIA.

I would like to end by a fun fact that the word Aatmanirbhar was chosen as the word of the year.
