75th Independence Day Celebrations of India organized by the “Gulf Telugu Sanghala Samaakya

The Telugu communities in the Gulf countries have come together and formed the “Gulf Telugu Sanghala Samaakya " and have been celebrating many events completely online for the past one year.

The Telugu community in the Gulf has celebrated the 75th Independence Day in virtual manner, with our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s call for the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” throughout the year on 75th Anniversary occasion of the India's independence.

Under the auspices of the United Telugu Associations Forum (UTAF) - Kuwait, the event was held with the participation of 8 Telugu Associations in the Gulf countries on a purely patriotic theme. Indian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Shri Sibi George was the Chief Guest, Shri Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Member of Parliament for Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh was the Special Guest and Shri Lavu Anjaiah Chowdhury, President of TANA was the Guest of Honor on 75th Independence Day and heard their valuable messages.

The cultural programs created with a patriotic theme in this Event were impressed by everyone. The event was attended by all age group from 5 years children to over 80 years adults. The presenter of the program, Shri Venkappa Bhagavatula, conducted the program in an entertaining manner and received everyone's admiration.

Mr. Kudaravalli Sudhakara Rao, President, United Telugu Associations Forum (UTAF) - Kuwait, said, it was a great pleasure for the Telugu community in the Gulf countries to celebrate the 75th Independence Day of India together. Participant Associations in the event were Telugu Kala Samithi Bahrain, Telugu Kala Samithi Oman, Andhra Kala Vedika Qatar, Saudi Telugu Association Saudi Arabia, Telugu Kala Sravanthi Abu Dhabi, Fujairah Telugu Families Fujairah, Telugu Tarangini Ras Al-Khaimah.

The event was sponsored by the Kudaravalli Foundation and Subhodayam Infra. Media partner was Kuwait Andhra Channel, technical support was provided by Vikram Sukhavasi and RK Videography Singapore.

Speaking about the “Gulf Telugu Sanghala Samaakya”, Sri Kudaravalli Sudhakara Rao said that with the idea of supporting the Surabhi Drama sector in its difficult times, Telugu community planned to organize Surabhi play every month by one of the Telugu Association on their auspices. Two Dramas were already screened and few more are lined up and will be screened until January’2022. He also, said that to promote our Telugu language, cultural and traditions, we are sharing the talents of Telugus in the Gulf to all over the world by participating in events organized by Telugu communities in the Gulf countries as well as in other parts of the world. This includes the World Telugu Cultural Festival under the auspices of TANA in July last year, the Maha Kavi Sammelanam in April this year, the recent Cultural Symposium under the auspices of Singapore and the Bhagavata Padhya Patana competitions for children from all over the Gulf countries and around the world by iBAM, USA.
