Bhavans SIS celebrates Baker’s Day

Enjoy the chance to bake, eat, and be merry with friends and family during this day.All you really need is a little flour, sugar and butter and a sense of adventure!

To celebrate the world Baking Day and show people just how much fun it can be to make a cake or some cookies, and baking can be a great way to spend time with family and friends, Kindergarten children of Bhavans SIS and Bhavans Jack and Jill were asked to bake a delicious cake during the class hours on 17 May 2021. LKG kids prepared simple vanilla/chocolate cakes whereas UKG kids made banana mug cakes.

Children loved doing this activity and shared the moments of yummy and mouth-watering cakes. Whilst wearing their aprons and chef’s hats, and with very clean hands, they decorated their cakes and shared with their loved ones.

It was overwhelming to see such wonderful responses from the children and their parents. The children had so much fun whilst learning to follow instructions and recipes, weigh, and mix ingredients, select their own toppings and use their fine motor control to sprinkle, scoop and spread.

The awe and wonder of watching as the combined ingredients changed before their eyes into something brand new, was true magic! All the children patiently waited for the cake to bake. Once baked, everyone enjoyed having a taste!

Children were able to explore their senses by feeling the ingredients, smelling the cake as it baked and having a yummy taste at the end.

Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Principal of Smart Indian School appreciated the kids for their confidence and accomplishment. He shared the quote “Sprinkle joy and it will come to you”.
