The Story of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

Part 1

Long ago in Makkah, a boy was born to a noble family in the land of Arabia. This place was a hot desert valley in which stood the Ka’bah the house of Allah. The Ka’bah was built by two Prophets, Ibrahim (SAW) and his son Ismaeel (SAW).The boy’s father, Abdullah was the son of Abdul Muttalib, who was from the Noble family of Banu Hashim of the Quraish tribe of Ismaeel. Abdullah died before his son was born. His mother was Aminah. As soon as her son was born, she sent the good news to his grandfather Abdul Muttalib. The grandfather was overjoyed and named the boy, Muhammad(SAW). Muhammad(SAW) and his family were descendants of the Prophet Ibrahim(SAW). As soon as Muhammad(SAW) was born he was sent to live in the desert. There were foster mothers, who looked after the babies. His foster mother was Halimah. Halimah’s family was very poor. When Muhammad(SAW) arrived Allah sent his blessings on Halimah and her family. After many months of drought, the rain came down. Soon there was plenty of food and water for the sheep, camels and for her whole family. Life in the desert was good for the babies as there was fresh air, water and plenty of space for them to run around. Suddenly one day, out in the desert when Muhammad(SAW) and his foster brothers were playing, an angel was sent down by Allah to purify the body of Muhammad(SAW), Halimah’s kids were frightened and ran to tell their mother. On that day Halimah knew it was the time for Muhammad(SAW) to go back to his mother. Aminah was happy to have his beloved son back after six years in the desert. Soon after Muhammad(SAW) returned, she took him to Madinah to visit his father’s grave. On the way back Aminah died. Muhammad(SAW) was now an orphan and had to return to his grandfather in Makkah. He was eight years old when his grandfather died. His grandfather was very fond of him and loved him like his own son. After the death of his grandfather, Abu Talib his uncle was happy to look after him and protect him. Muhammad (SAW) would often go up into the mountains alone and think about Allah the one who created everything around him. Muhammad (SAW) LOVED Allah. As a young boy Muhammad (SAW) worked as a shepherd looking after sheep in the mountains. When he was twelve years old, his uncle took him on his first trade journey with a caravan to Syria. Muhammad (SAW) was known in and around Makkah as AL-Amin, the honest and truthful. When Muhammad(SAW) was twenty-five years old, he worked for a noble woman called Khadijah. She made Muhammad (SAW) in charge of a trade caravan to Syria, along with her slave, Maisarah. Khadijah was so pleased with the success of Muhammad (SAW) in Syria, that they got married soon after his return. They were happily married and had two sons and four daughters. His sons and daughters died before him except for Fatimah. The Ka’bah was very old and a recent flood in the Makkah valley had damaged the walls. The Ka’bah was rebuilt and the wall was firmly in place, a Blackstone was sent from heaven by Allah. Before a fight could break out, a leader of one of the tribes said, “let the first to enter the place of the Ka’bah, be the judge”. At that very moment, Muhammad (SAW) AL-Amin, the truthful, was walking towards them. All the tribes told him their problem, he had an excellent idea. He asked them to place the black stone on a piece of cloth and for the four leaders to lift each corner. He then placed the stone in its correct position and all the tribes went home peacefully. Allah guided Muhammad (SAW) from a very young age. Muhammad (SAW) always loved to visit his favorite cave in the mountain called Hira. There he would remember Allah and count all his blessings.
