Bhavans IES Virtually Celebrated the Universal Children’s Day

Since the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959, the Universal Children's Day has been celebrated on the 20th of November to promote international togetherness and social awareness among children worldwide and to improve children's welfare. Bhavans Indian Education School, Kuwait grandly celebrated this year’s Universal Children’s Day on its virtual platform on Thursday, the 19th of November 2020.

For the students of IES the celebration was a complete gala affair, letting them have a whale of a time witnessing various entertaining programmes put up by their beloved gurus. In all the virtual classrooms, the celebrations started off with the video message from Ms. Divya Rajesh, Director, Bhavans Middle East. She, while addressing the children, stated that childhood is the most colourful and enjoyable period of a person’s life and spoke about the best possible ways of making childhood the best stage of one’s life. She emphasized that the best thing about childhood is that children are always loved and protected by their families. The students were also advised to let their family members know them better and to have an effective communication with the family to bridge the generation gap. She said that another beautiful thing about childhood is that children get ample time to study and pursue their hobbies. Quoting the fictional character, Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, she said even miracles take time, so children should plan their time properly, use their childhood days wisely to learn the most of what they can, and should participate in all the school activities She concluded the address by advising the students to find them growing up and moving ahead in a very beautiful way.

Mr. T. Premkumar, principal, IES, too virtually addressed the student community. He started his message by extending warm greetings on the occasion of Children’s Day to his dear students. He said that it was extremely unfortunate that the students had missed almost six to seven months of fun-filled schooling days because of the ongoing pandemic, but IES had left no stone unturned and given the students adequate opportunities to take part in national and international competitions. He promised that he and his team of teachers would do their best to make sure that the students would not miss anything related to academics. He concluded the message by saying that the children had to strive hard, make their parents and teacher proud and be proud of themselves.

Following the messages, there were some entertaining programmes organized by the teachers. There were also highly interactive online games that ensured the active participation of the students who were thrilled to bits challenging their classmates and their teachers. Some of the students too proudly took the virtual stages for making the wonderful day more eventful and more memorable. All the students were overwhelmed by the thoughtful gesture of the teachers and felt elated, loved, and appreciated on their very special day- International Children’s Day.
