Ramadan (The Holy Month)

Ramadan is the 9th month of Islamic calendar where muslims fast worldwide.Ramadan is the month that shows the phases of moon.People pray for forgiveness it is the month where people pray, recite quran,worship, does charity, etc.Ramadan is the month people fast the whole month.Suhoor is the meal consumed after midnight, muslims fast down at evening.Muslims fast for Allah awareness and to seek forgiveness for past sins.At the end of the month of Ramadan muslims celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr all over the world.Ramadan is the month where Allah SWT revealed the Holy Quran.During Ramadan muslims intend to stronger their relationships with Allah.

During Ramadan people above the age of 12 are expected to fast with the exceptions needed. Each year, the day it starts and ends changes as it goes with the moon calendar. Depending on the region, it may even change the dates on which Ramadan is celebrated.In Ramadan there is a night where muslims stay up all night worshiping Lait-Ul-Qadr.It is the night celebrated after 15-20 days of Ramadan. Allah says in the Qur'an, “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months,” it means that the night is very powerful and is the only night in the whole year that holds the power of forgiveness.Ramadan is the month where we do not fight or be be against our enemies, it is the month where we sort things and move forward even with our enemies.

On 19th of Ramadan Iman Ali died, people go to his ziyarat(Iman Ali Holy shrine in Najaf, Iraq).People who are blessed with it they visit and worships there.Festival celebrated by people all over the world Eid-Ul-Fitr is the day people get new clothes, invite relavites at home and prepare the whole day.The morning prayer(fajr) fajr is part of the five obligatory prayers that every Muslim should be praying so there is no reason to skip praying fajr. We call it as Eid Salah, which is after fajr namaz, Eid also includes eating the most famous dish is shirkhurma which is especially prepared in the mormings of Eid. It also includes khajur which is usually we eat after breaking down the fast.

There are certain rules to be followed in the month of Ramadan;

1.Religious law exempts menstruating women from fasting.
2.Do embrace the community spirit and wish a blessed Ramadan to Muslim friends and colleagues
3.Do not eat, chew, drink or smoke in public during the hours of daylight, even if you're not Muslim.
4.After each meal, prayer is a must.
