The holy month of Ramadan

Sunday, March 19, 2023

Ramadan is also spelled Muslim fasting is performed throughout Ramazan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Being one of Islam's five pillars, it is viewed as important. From one crescent moon sighting to the next, it usually takes 29 to 29.9 days.

The Mecca timetable should be observed by those who reside in polar night zones, in accordance with the fatwa’s (legal rulings on issues of Islamic law). The closest nation, where night and day can be discerned, is followed by the populace. During the Ramadan, it is stated that the spiritual rewards increase. According to legend, Ramadan was the time when Abraham's scrolls of the Torah and Psalms were revealed. Muslims observe the suhoor, or pre-fast day, each day. It is completed before sunrise. After a while, they begin Fajr, the first prayer of the day. Families break their fast with iftar at dusk, customarily beginning the meal with dates in remembrance of the Prophet Muhammad. After that, they leave for Maghrib, the fourth of the five obligatory prayers each day. The main course is then served. The meals include tamarind-stuffed fish, lentil soup, shish kebab, hajra, and more. Throughout Ramadan, there are a lot of health-related issues. The only people who are allowed to fast are those who are deemed healthy.

For instance, a study of 55 Algerian professional soccer players revealed that the month of Ramadan caused a drop in their speed, agility, dribbling speed, and endurance. The University of Berlin has warned students against fasting because it will result in poor scores and a lack of focus. Ramadan poses a particularly significant risk of renal-related problems for people with serious kidney disease. Ramadan eating in public during the day is illegal in certain Muslim nations. Alcohol sales are prohibited during Ramadan in Egypt. Consuming food, drink, or cigarettes in public while Ramadan is in effect is punishable by fines or jail in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Algeria, and Malaysia. In the UAE, the penalty is community service. The whole month of Ramadan, individuals engage in charity endeavours. According to Muslims, doing good deeds is appreciated more during Ramadan. The thirty days of Ramadan must be spent in prayer and fasting for Muslims. It is Eid after thirty days of uninterrupted fasting. Once thirty days have passed, it is pronounced when a new crescent moon is seen. Muslim nations offer public holidays to their citizens on Eid. With food and family, people celebrate Eid. Mamoul, Phirni, Biryani, lamb stew, Falafels, and a variety of other delicacies are the primary dishes offered during Eid. Children receive money for Eid to spend and have a good time. There are fewer working hours during the holy month of Ramadan. Workdays are merely six hours long in places like Kuwait and Oman. The private sector is also affected by this.

Ramadan is a holy month that needs to be observed annually to keep the heart pure. Future generations should remember it and pass it forward. Muslims observe a fast during that month to remember the Quran's revelation.
