The Holy Month Of Ramadan

Wednesday, April 7, 2021

Ramadan is the time for fasting from sunrise to sunset. Ramadan is the best month in Islam. It is called the month of fast and is called “The God’s month” as well.

Muslims should not drink or eat anything or smoke in the daytime period of Ramadan. It is also said that Muslims who is fasting is the Guest of God. Fasting is an obligatory task for every Muslim that she or he is able to fast. The forebear eating, drinking and smoking is the basis of fasting Islam but there are some quote of God that say, better a Muslim fasting spiritually as well. It does mean, it is better that he doesn’t do any wrong in Ramadan as much as possible and do good works instead. Ramadan is the blessed month that God welcomes his guests with hunger and thirst. But some Muslims are not able to fast because of the following reasons.

?Muslims that are sick.
?Muslims women that are pregnant.
?Muslims that are travelling to some other places.
?The old man and old women that are not able to fast because of weakness.
?Muslims who cannot tolerate fasting and it is hard for them to fast because of some problem in their body.

In fact, the hardness of Ramadan is not a tribulation to people but it is a great intangible gift that God donates then to get rid of the Satan’s temptations and their own extreme desires and bestiality. It is also the most precious month in the Islamic Calendar (Hijri) and it is also the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar. Actually Holy Quran was first revealed in the month of Ramadan. It is also a time for Muslims to fast for the sake of God and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramadan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds. Ramadan had been the name of the ninth month in Arabian culture long before the arrival of Islam. Fasting is meant to teach the Muslims to have patience, modesty and spirituality. Before having their fasting Muslims get up in the very early morning, go to mosque, pray at their homes, eat their food a little and they go to sleep till the sun comes. During the month of Ramadan there was a night called Laylat al-Qadr which means the night of decree or measures. The night is to be believed to be one of the last 10 days of the month. Ramadan ends with Eid ul-Fitr on the first of Shawwal, with much celebration and feasting. With this line, I end my article.

Thank You
