As in India, there is no proper PTA here to raise our concerns. the school authorities are utilizing these opportunities. In the name of Education everywhere there is an organized ''loot''. the parents should join together and come out as one voice to stop this.
Again question is "Who will bell the cat"....

No point in downloading the books. You need to print them, either on your printer or from outside. Either way, it is cheaper to buy the printed books.

or
u can take printout of a single chapter going on in school if book is not there in bookstore in Kuwait.
also u can get books from India through someone coming from India,

At least ICS is charging KD54/-. Bhavans charges more than KD 80 per year for text book and very few note books. The note books are so fine that every time kids have to pay 100 fils for thin note book for tests and 300 fils each note book for little thicker one. Total money making racket. Kids cannot use siblings text books which is not fair at all. Kids also have to buy notebooks only from the school. Uniforms also have to be bought from the school at exorbitant price as they changed the uniforms.

Yes almost all school management looting to the parents despite clearly guide lines from Ministry of Education-Private in Kuwait that no school insist to buy the Books and Uniform from school only, Ministry also clearly told those schools they have to provide the complete list of books in advance like 2-3 months to parents but schools are doing same malpractices. Most parents keep silent as they aren''''t live parents.

There r uniform stores in salmiya, and abbasiya ... u can check there.
ACTUALLY DUE TO GUNDAGARDI OF INDIAN SCHOOL THESE SHOPS STOPPED KEEPING UNIFORMS. As sell was not there.
Now parents must boycott schools for UNIFORMS, TEXTBOOKS, NOTEBOOKS ,BLAZERS ,SWEATERS ETC
The demand will grow and parents will get it cheapers

Well..lets talk about DPS. They force each and every student to only and only take books from school. In between they keel charging for some thing or other. During 2nd term they gave computer book to the kids and charged 6.500 kd which was automatically entered into the childs account without the parents knowledge and before exams they force you to come and pay else the reports and exams papers wont be given. The price printed on the book is 499 Rs and they are charging 6.500 kd from each student. All the other books too are very expensive. NOW the real thing, most of parents are from Oil sector where they get all the allowances for books and fees and they hardly care about the prices. They just blindly pay DPS whtever they want and act like big shots in front of teachers and school. If they did not get the allowance, they would never buy the books at all and create a big mess. But the other middle class parents are suffering due to this K Company parents.

Dear the rule above are told by an official from MOE private education who visited the school on 21st January 2020 .
These rule are same for all private schools operating in Kuwait. Like Arabic, western english schools, Indian, pakistani, Iranians schools . And other schools
So collect receipt etc and go and complain. Right a simple letter in English and they will call u after some months
My kid has reached 12th this year
All reardy heard and seen GUNDAGARDI AND DADAGIRI OF PRINCIPAL FOR 2 YEARS KG AND 11YEARS 1ST TO 11TH...
THIS time i am determined to fight till end
Once they say the need letter from PRINCIPAL will collect and Complaint

Due to the current circumstances, and as private schools are not open based on the cabinet''s decision on February 26,and Match 19,
The education ministry''s Private and Qualitative Education Department issued a circular asking private schools not to collect transport fees as well as school activities expenses during the schools shut down. Schools shall deduct those fees, in case payments were made from school fees or refund parents who paid in advance.

My child studied in ICSK and now working in a developed country. Never ever I had this problem of buying books from school. I used to buy books from Sakina or accept books from old students. I was very happy.

the school principal permission is required, with a letter from principal, to purchased ''half set'' (a term invented for this purpose) which means i will purchase notebooks from school. and will use text books from old students of previous years.
AND STUDENT CAN USE OLD SET ONLY FROM HIS SIBLING ... etc..
and teacher will not check notebooks if purchased from outside.
also every parent has to show book purchased receipt, so no one is left behind.
in case a student is from not well to do background. (this is what we got to know)
i never took any interest in that but
Last years met a Parents who was about to cry due to this books issue, and decided to do something.(also helped him for books)

2. can purchase from book shops like sakina etc. (they are selling costly)

Hello / as salaamo alaykum to ALL PARENTS OF SCHOOL GOING KIDS and all IIK members
As school examinations are over and new year for students will begin from 1st April.
My suggestion is we parents come together and exchange the old school books of our kids.
Also I am planning to order books through courier with some medicine etc. from Mumbai.
If any parents in interested we can order all school text books from India.
Also i am planning to make the PDF COPY of these books.
So PARENTS can take print out of these books as and when required.
Standard 1st EVS and Hindi pdf for ICS Jaleeb school is available with me i can WhatsApp it.
All are welcome to comments.

this post is not regarding printing books etc.
it is to show HOW SCHOOL ARE BECOMING PROFIT MAKING CENTRE.
Surve wrote he purchased text books for KD 15/- from Sakina and may be KD 10/- more for notebooks etc.
school (ICS Jaleeb ) was asking for KD 55/-.
That''s it , and parent can use old text book like wise poor student can also benefit.
seen here in farwaniya families with kids and they where not attending school due to fees.

I managed to get Grade 7 books for my son through friends. It seems couple of books have different versions this academic year. Any idea if I can get only needed books NOT whole set. My son is studying at ICS. I believe softcopies still too early for children, few books have over 200 pages.

As against school price of KD 50 ./- PLUS
From sakina
