u can take international license from https://www.kiac.com.kw/. If u want u can convert ur international license to indian license in India

Thank you for your comment, i already have international license from https://www.kiac.com.kw and is about to expire in few days. This usually is valid for 2 years only. I''m interested in getting permanent India DL. can you kindly let me know the steps to be followed. Thank you

yes possible in some states. you have to only write the written or online test. they will issue normal Indian driving license. On your next leave better go & try with MVI in RTO office or through any agent. complete the English translation of the driving license, Civil ID attest it from Embassy & foreign ministry. Update us also the outcome.

@ JA, your international driving license is not valid in India. International driving license is not valid in your country of Citizenship. You will not get Indian driving license based on your Kuwait Driving License. You have to start fresh to get driving license but now driving license in India are issued based on your training course with training institute. No need to go to traffic department.

If you have a valid Kuwait License, that can be converted to the same for Indian license. If you are driving 4 wheel you get for 4 wheel only, not for 2 wheel also. I did it. The procedure is as follows:
1) Same procedure as for learners license. You need the following documents.
a) Valid address proof ( Passport, Adhar card etc any one)
b) Passport size photo
c) Eye test certificate and health test certificate ( Get it from an approved doctor). Form will get from Parivahan website)
d) English Translation of Kuwait Driving license and should be attested by Arabic known person ( I did it from a Muslim school head master). You can take it from here after attestation from Indian Embassy. The cost will be high.
2) After you get the learners submit all your document and they will issue the license. It may take time like one month.

@Sa, your information is misleading. Kuwait license is of no use in India for getting indian driving license. You seems to be here just to mislead people or time pass.

I did for my wife in Mangalore. Submitted copies of Kuwait Driving license, Civil id, Passport and Aadhar card along with original (only for verification) to one of the driving school. They took appointment in traffic department where she had to appear personally for photograph. Within 2 days she got her Indian driving license for 10 years. The total fee was Rs. 4,500. One of my friend got it till the residence validity which he renewed later for 10 years. I dont remember whether we submitted photo. To be safe keep 2 photographs ready.

your point on obtaining indian driving license based on Kuwait license does not make any sense as license you get here are based on Automatic Cars while in India they take test on Manual cars. Giving Indian Driving license based on automatic driving will keep lives in danger.

Does Kuwait license mention vehicle is automatic or manual? NO
Indian driving license also does not mention that, so when someone speaks facts from personal experience, BEND OVER.
You should be worried about Pot holes, drunken drivers and stray cattle for endangering lives.

First of all, let me know how u got Kuwait Driving License without Given Indian driving license copy, and without prepare paper from Indian embassy.
In Kuwait u must need to have indian Driving license then only document will process.
And now u want to do reverse??

@ RRR, now you are misleading others. To obtain a Kuwait driving license no need of Indian license, unless your catagory as a driver or a Khadim visa. Others can obtain license if you are eligible for Kuwait conditions for license.

I got my Indian license from Kerala, based on valid Kuwait driving license almost 8 years back. I directly approched MVI in RTO office and submitted my application along with eye test report from Kerala. On the same day he has allotted date for my online test and after 2 days I have received my orginal Indian driving license.

@JA The procedure to obtain Indian DL using Kuwait DL is comparatively easy..Again depends on which state you are applying from..Approach a driving school,they can arrange in a few days..International DL is not valid in your home country.
