Rest assured, each year during my vacations, I bring along a musical instrument. To date, I have carried instruments such as the piano, violin, guitar, congas, and djembe.

Thank you N and dreamer for the replies. I wanted to know few details like :- 1) Is the original cardboard in which it was purchased sufficient enough for packing or do we need to pack it in a case? 2) Will it be going as luggage ? Should we inform at the airport check in that it is a musical instrument for special care while loading? Appreciate your reply.

Put it in multiple bubble wrapping and also in a box. it will go as a normal luggage and most important dont forget to put fragile stickers on it. also it will come as a specail baggage as it will not come on a conveyor belt.

@N & dreamer I have a yamaha A2000 keyboard which is quite big, don''t have the original box though. Can I bring it from India to Kuwait just by bubble wrap? Any customs charges applicable in Kuwait? Do all airlines including emirates allow you to carry the same? Any extra charges to carry the same by the flight operator?

There shouldn''t be any problems, although I have never traveled with Emirates. However, it is advisable to call and ask customer service prior to bringing it with you in case of any unforeseen issues.
